You interested in the occult and Victorian horror like Dracula, Frankenstein and the like?

Check out Penny Dreadful. 3 seasons and they stopped before the story got stale. Overall good show in my opinion if you enjoy that sort of thing. It's on Netflix.

Another big fan of American Gods. (I've bought many editions of that book over the years, it's a fave)

lately I've been enjoying Dark Matter, Billions, and Better Call Saul.  All vastly different shows, but I enjoy the variety.
  • Along somewhat similar lines.. if you haven't watched Supernatural it's a good (and almost excruciatingly long) binge. Netflix has a lot of gems. House of Cards and Orange is the New Black are the obvious ones. Bloodlines is good but starts suuuuper slow.
  • The crystal maze is a puzzle game TV show there is a new series of it starting on channel 4 on the 23rd June in the UK.
  • not a big TV guy but I do love tea and books if that counts ^^
  •  I do plan on watching Twin Peaks once the season ends so I can binge watch it lol.  I really need to get netflix.   I keep hearing about all those shows available.  Once I do get it I'll be busy for quite awhile.  Ohh I haven't watched the second season of Billions yet.  but I was waiting for the season to end to binge as well.  I prefer Binge watching, I find that I get more invested and enjoy the shows better.

Please tell me you sit in your cardigan with a pipe and read large tomes with a corgi by your feet next to a fire.

  • Which books nagash?  I'm not a big fan of  hot Tea, just Iced Tea.

Nagash, some day soon there will be a thread where we show each other pictures of our stacks of books.

    I would like that
  • What's TV?   I've had to give so many books way over the years to make room for more.  As much as I love a real book in my hands I had to get a Kindle for traveling.
  • If you like to get mentally tripped up, Black Mirror is always good.

If cooking competitions are your thing, MasterChef Australia is better than any other under that brand.

I can't recommend half the shows I watch because they are incredibly trashy. Haha.
  • I watch movies, not TV when I do watch something. There's a few exceptions, such as GoT... Like a few others here, I prefer to read.
  • Game of Thrones returns next month....
  • Game of Thrones returns next month....
and the dead with them ^^
  • Sure does. Shows I have watched in the past are breaking bad, Sons of Anarchy-both of which are long over with.
I do watch Better call Saul, the spinoff of breaking bad. It just had its season finale though. I also watch Vikings and Mr.Robot. Both of which are in their off seasons

  • I think the first two seasons of "Misfits" on Hulu and the only two seasons of "Better off Ted" on Netflix are way underrated.

Misfits - what if teenagers stuck with community service got super powers...
"Better off Ted" - a mockery of how mega-corporations work (sitcom style)

Better Off Ted was really good. It went too soon. It's sad that it did not receive as much attention when it first released, and instead only got the recognition it deserves through Netflix now.
  • The Magicians.

It's an adult Harry Potter. It's created by the book of the same name The Magicians by Lev Grossman. People claim book is darker than TV version as well as TV Show being way better than the book.

They finished their second season and in 2018 third one is coming. Each season contains 13 episodes. The creators and the producers put insane amount of effort for such low budget and low amount of audience. The cast is amazing.

Plot summary is: Magic, magic,  school, magic, sexual intercourse, drug, alcholism, sexual intercourse, magic, lgbt love, magic, obsession, magic, death, magic, death, gods, magic gods, demi-gods, gods, magic...

I am a BIG fan of those books.... and I do watch the tv show.... and I enjoy the tv show... but that being said, the show is a terrible adaptation of the books.

But the saving grace for me is that the way the story is crafted, the show sets itself up to be an alternate reality of the books - which sits okay with me.  (I appreciated joke about Janet. ;)  )

I have to say that I love the casting for the tv show though, the actors are great.
  • Do not forget 'Peaky FOKIN' Blinders' young fellas :P
  • In order of my appreciation:
    Da Vinci's Demons
    The Blacklist
The Blacklist: Redemption - (spinoff of The Blacklist, so watch after the original series)
    Suits
    NCIS:LA
    NCIS
    Taboo
    The Last Kingdom
    Magicians
