What if, and bear with me no folks, what if it's actually 8000+ people who want to support the game and are giving money because they like what they see?

Outlandish I know, but possibly true!

Yeah... Damn.. Byebye Wand, it was nice thinking I'd get to hold you. :'(
  • Fear not, once they get the upgrades online for kickstarters those numbers will start moving again. I hope they count the purchases of mounts and such... that would be awesome!
  • Once they open it up for KS backers to upgrade their pledges you might see a small increase. The whole June backer thing was an overreaction to a very vocal minority. Forum rants of "Your elite American imperialism doesn't let those of us living in the 3rd world without credit cards pledge with Kickstarter, you are missing out on hundreds of thousands of people who want to back!!!!!" "Over 70 percent of your community that wanted to pledge couldn't, you are missing millions in potential backing!!" and so on and so on. So they jump through hoops, piss people off by offering "exclusives" again, thus making them not so "exclusive", all for a bang and a whimper when after all this time the true numbers of these "people just waiting to back through other means besides cc." are shown to be insignificant. I am all for getting free stuff, but when it takes all the time, effort, and resources from actual development of the game away to address some bullshit, you have to wonder.

Hey, ease up on the hate there buddy!
I am one of these "3rd world countries without credit cards" I am from Australia and simply do not own a credit card due to having a bank keypass for transactions (which isn't accepted as one of their payment options) and a strong belief of not borrowing money off people.
I pay my own way and if I need PayPal to do it, then I ask you not to mock me thankyou Sir.

lol I was thinking along similar lines.

Though, I do find some dark humor, in the fact that the one's who decried the devaluing of their exclusives, apparently didn't have much to worry about, lol.

    Oh, the irony!

@Flameh0t thanks for backing, everyone counts, each person no matter the pledge level makes this game better!

    To everyone;
Pass the word around, the only reason that counter isn't moving as fast as you want is because you haven't pushed the game hard enough, do just a little more, if everyone does we will get the counter spinning!

  • Never had a problem with the summer extension of kickstarter myself. Even if 1 person backed...that's 1 more person playing the game, helping to make it successful. Doesn't bother me in the least. I've said it before and I'll say it again: I didn't pay hundreds of dollars for some skins on a mount or superficial rewards. I paid to back the game, as i actually really want to see it made and play it.
  • Lol, next time I see a whinge and moan about the shitty state of your internet in OZ and why you absolutely must have servers located there to alleviate your unplayable lag I will rethink my stance on you being internet 3rd world. It is possible to have a credit card without incurring interest or fees. Here in Japan credit cards as you traditionally think of them do not exist. But I can get a visa or mastercard linked directly to my account that functions as a debit card that can be used all over the freaking world, 3rd and otherwise. My main bitch/moan/rant is not with your particular set of circumstances that causes you need special service. More that the response to the particular set of absolute idiots who came out with "give me moar cookies or I'm taking my toys and going home" was unbalanced at best.

I don't have any issues with my internet.. It runs at 100mb/s.. It's not the best, but I didn't see a point in getting any higher speeds..
But either way, I shouldn't be getting ridiculed for other people's actions. I didn't even post about not being able to pay, I just let it go and shrugged it off.
So I don't see why you can't just shrug off that someone else brought the same online pack as you, regardless of what it was titled..

It's obviously too much to just have someone be grateful that someone is supporting the same cause as you? Why does it matter someone else brought it? And you accused me of being special needs..

Like @SaeyoPrayers just mentioned, don't see him bitching and moaning cos others contributed.

    @Flameh0t
I don't think @UknownSystemError was intentionally trying to be hateful, or ridicule you.  I think the bulk of his gripe is with IS's response to what, at the time, seemed many...but now, not so much...regarding the Summer KS extension.  Not at the potential backers, like yourself.  At least, that's what I think.

Either way, there were many, like @SaeyoPrayers and myself, who had no problems with the KS extension.  But, there were many who found fault with the way it was done.  Some had a problem with it being done, at all.  It was a contentious issue, which I hate to dredge up again.

Instead, I'm hoping that we can all agree that we all want to enjoy making this game a success, moving forward!

They guy has a Hello Kitty Hitler as a logo... I stopped taking anything he said with more than a grain of salt weeks ago.

I'd probably start doing the same man.
  • I am totally outraged by the june lacking of payment options. They are missing out on millions of backers like me who want to back with buttons and bottlecaps. I demand July backing campaign for this! Its only fair.
    Seriously.

jk backed through KS out of one of the countries that were "left out" because cc is not common with my 10 year old optional totally free CC (seriously never paid anything for it).

It's your right to display it, but in doing so, you probably fail to understand there may be people here who find that by displaying that logo, you show little to no regard for it's meaning to them. People such as me, who have relatives who died in the Holocaust and perished in the fighting. People whose lives were forever marked by it.

Regardless of what justification you feel you have for it, you must understand people, like myself, will see you as someone who deserves little respect because you have poor taste, and little respect for others.
  • Aaaaand we are back to 638 backers with 18 days left. Not great at al :disappointed:
  • Counter was bugged. Now its OK.

Except this campaign was aimed at the current community that couldn't back the kickstarter. It was not made to attract new players to the game. All this show is that they shouldn't listen to a vocal minority. This debacle has probably hurt the game more than it has helped it. Bad press and broken promises using word games is not a good thing. Let's just hope they can survive the backlash from the media. They just added a pile of fule to the PC Gamer article.

I don't think they broke any promises. You're still getting what you paid for, aren't you? A continuation of their current fund raising isn't breaking any promise. All backers are entitled to pledge money to help fund the game.

So unless you plan on funding them 750k by yourself, stfu.

So I should stfu because I'm worried about what the media backlash could do to the game? . . . Seriously? No broken promesis? The Exclusive Lifetime Subscription wasn't exclusive. That's a broken promise and any amount of word games or bending promises won't change that. Personally I don't care about the extended funding, what I do care about is the bad press and backlash from the media. We've already seen it with the PC Gamer article and this just adds fule to the fire. And by the backer count we've seen so far any excuse they used for the campaign hasn't been valid.

The Life time subscription IS exclusive to backers who funded the game before it's release Regardless of if it was KS or Summer backing. Promise not broken.
Dont worry, you will be getting your precious life time subscription so you can still play when you're an 80 year old man.

It's not kickstarter exclusive, which it was advertised as from the start (that makes it a broken promise) and that's what the media will use to spread bad press. It makes IS not trustworthy. And we need good press to help make the game more successful and attract new players.

But I can see now there's no point in discussing anything with you any further. You don't seem to understand the word exclusive and what it means to break promises. Nor do you seem to understand what I'm worried about at all.

    Grow up.
    It's backer exclusive.
What's next, you try to sue them because the Kickstarter packages are all skins not actual physical items?
Promises are for children. You are getting your life time subscription, who cares if someone else is getting it. "Oh he broke a promise boohoo I'm going to tell my mom so she can Facebook rant to media" you are the reason this game gets bad backlash, crying and whining like a 6 year old.
That's all you are doing right now.
  • Can't wait till we see this in a couple months. "Sign up now for our Fall Backer program. We found that people were not informed in a timely manner of our June Backer program, so have decided on another round of funding with all new shiny goals. And of course, tweaking the meaning of "Exclusive", we have decided that anyone who wants to buy our Braver of Worlds package for $600 (the 50 dollars more means it is an exclusive price.) and get the "Exclusive to Kickstarter Lifetime Subscription" package can now do so. But hurry up, this is a one time offer, except of course when we decide to ask you to pledge again. And as an extra added bonus, you will get all the pet and mount skins, just renamed and recolored of course."

It would make sense if they added the kick starter backers. We will see has the days go on
KS backers was way over 8k though
It's just a guess, mind you...but I am thinking that it's counting the original KS backers as they are activating their accounts.
Well, if it cracks over 20k, that might be it!
Well, considering only 30-150 of us are on the forum at any given time, and only 3000+ people watched the Q&A, I would say a large portion of KS backers haven't entered their codes yet. Especially when the email is sent to the promo tab of my gmail, that's something I hardly check, and would not have check if I didn't frequent the forums and found out it was there.

They have all year to enter their code, there's no deadline for them to worry about. Plus, just like IS on vaca for the 4th of July, maybe many of the KS backers are also on vaca.

Anyways, my speculation is that this surge is the KS backers redeeming their codes.

Oh they fixed it.... I was late to the party!
