  • A merchant class, Necromancer, Warlock.

    Imagine Summoner/Necro combo <3

I would love a gunner, however I know Steven's vision does not involve that class ever coming to Ashes.
You know I remember watching a video online by deathsproxy and he found some evidence that the old world used to be steam punk. If that is true maybe the gunner can be added at the launch of an expansion after the in game story progresses to the point where we find ancient technology.

    Interesting. That would be great.
  • Naval class like Pirate. :)
  • I am going to think outside the box here and say Necromancer.  Why I hear you cry?  Well because if I don't my guildie @drdebica will flat out.... Well, necromance me.
  • @PJ_Rydecker ah thank you yea I want that Necromancy class so much

None of the above. Let's get some meaningful variety here. I nominate the class of Saucier

Yeah, no worries, I'll pause a moment while the chills of excitement subside.

See, the Saucier has it going on. He buffs, debuffs, throws eclairs, throws tantrums, etc, everything. This guy's oozing rich dynamism and drama. And the ooze tastes okay. I mean, it's not something you'd likely order, but for ooze you found coming off a guy, you gotta admit it's pretty amazing you find it palletable at all.

That's what's so great about this class. It doesn't have to jump out at you. It's versatility and steadfast reliability make it the cornerstone of a balanced party. Yeah, yeah psionics all "look at me I move stuff with my mind." A Saucier can move your heart to tears. With broth.
  • Monk

  • Monk

I was thinking that too, then I thought, Cleric/Fighter combo :3
  • If I remember right gunners won't  be possible or will happen. I'm pretty certain that they mentioned in a stream that "machinery" etc won't be a thing in their fantasy world so guns, cars etc won't really be a thing. Although the did say cannons on ships so I don't get it xD maybe it was just no to cars xD

Yes that's quit doable with the system as it's planned.  A monk though is a class of it's own.   Monks typically are masters of martial arts and specialize in unarmed combat and light to no armor.  They have a spiritual attribute that contributes to their skills.
They also have limited use of weapons.

You are correct Diura, Steven did say no guns and was pretty adamant about it.

I adore Necromancy so I'd love to have a Necromancer class (and being able to go Death/Shadow Knight with it would be a dream come true)

@CylverRayne in games a monk is usually what you just said, and it's largely uses Eastern monks as inspiration. What I think he meant with Cleric/Fighter monk would be a more European monk.

I personally would love to see a class that utilises technology (it doesn't have to be super sophisticated).
Can't really have any technology at all.. Then that takes the game from a fantasy game to a Sci-fi game, changing the entire genre lol so I think the closest you would get to a gun is a crossbow for archers. xD
Why not? Technology doesn't have to mean super sophisticated sci-fi stuff. Basic firearms and gadgets have been a part of many fantasy RPGs to date.

2nd edition. D&D type Ranger. Getting sick of archers being labeled rangers. Minsc, Aragon, Ren O the Blade, Drizzt Do'Urden. All rangers all Melee. Granted in the later Drizzt novels he utilizes the Heartseeker alot but he is deadliest with those Scimitars.
  • I'm not quite sure what I'd like to see be added if anything, perhaps another support class based on alchemy but then again alchemy/cooking seemed to be professions already...
  • @Kelindale Ahhh, 2nd Edition Rangers choosing Dual Wield were awesome.  If I remember correctly and you chose your skills correctly you could have Oversized Two Weapon fighting at level 7 (maybe 11).  Now, if you happen to have a predilection for Dwarves then you could have a Dwarven Battle Axe in each hand with only the normal dual wield penalties.  This was a build that I like to call the Dwarven Cuisinart.

    +dark oriented class(dark paladin/necro/warlock)
    +monk(energy manipulator/dif. stances/evasion/resists/selfheals)
+druid/shaman/spiritist(cuz they are hybrids in basic)
+barbarian-berserk(cuz he is NOT typical fighter)
    +pure control class-illusionist/hypno ex.
NO gunner - if only this dude would be with slow and ancient powerful gun aka arkibuza

  • Fisting punch class!  :o
  • Probably a dark arcane class.
  • in a medieval era ? @KingOelc ?

  • Necromancer
    shapeshifter
    Dark/deathknight
    perhaps a druid.
  • i would like a warlock with dark/blood magic, & dots etc. class. i would main a class like that in a heartbeat.
  • I'd like to see something akin to the Disciple of Khaine from Warhammer Online.  You heal yourself and your allies through damage to your opponents.
  • Wonder could we sample some of the old expert classes from D&D?
  • a druid that could shapeshift like in D&D

or a psyk (illusion type of magic

Psychic could be pretty cool if it was a pure control class or if it had ability to interact with environment for combat (telekinesis; throwing trees and such) but I don't think the mechanics of this game would allow for the latter.

    Gunner... no.
