  • I think that what DeathsProxy said about the combat is pretty good about if there are quick time like things to make them visual within the character and spell animations this will make the combat a little more complex to learn but so much more rewarding and feel so much better.

    Also @Consultant I am not so sure about doing up to 16 abilities I think there should be maybe 2 or 4 more at max so like 10-12 the reason being how the 2nd class and race augmentations work. So even though one class may have 8 active spells There would be (With augments of 2nd class and race) up to 512 different possible spells. So personally I am perfectly fine with 8 base and 512 different possible abilities as long as they are actually different graphically and mechanically for the game to some degree (Which so far seems to be) my only hope is that we get to augment all of our abilities not just 1 for each 2nd class and race.

    The reason that I said overhaul is that I do not believe that they have found the mix of tab targeting and combat like they said that they want to. I think that there is potential for it though in the footage that we have seen. I am honestly just impressed with the devs though and really the game idea is great and honestly could be "the next great MMO" or the "One to dethrone WOW" but the biggest reason I have faith in this game is the devs. They actually are in this because they love it and so I have faith in them mostly for making an amazing game.
  • Hello all! I have played prob all major mmorpgs, and put alot of time into them all.
    I also agree that few skills dont feel good, 16 abillities is minimum!
    Please dont make a limited action set, or max 10 skills or something in the like : /
    If you want the game to be easier to learn, just look at wow, final fantasy, aion and so on, people will learn and handle lot of abillitys. I think 16 is the optimal skills and now i dont count pots, first aid and stuff like that, just class abilities.

  • I know that other game have low number abilities but 8 abilities does not sound to exciting would like to see at least 16 abilities min. But even just four more would add more variety in the game.   I saw a page up button so maybe there will be more abilities to chose frome but only be able to use 8.  But Do not know for sure. 

    So if you added 8 more abilities the combat system would basically need an overhaul.

    But I would like to say that for the pre-alpha content it was acceptable,  since it was so early in the game.  I mean it is so early in developement that it would be completely unfair to campare it with a game that is already released.   From what I hear the combat system in BDO was really bad before it got released now some say it is pretty good. Think I will do a post called the Legendary Combat system.  
    they said there will be more than 8  active abilities at launch :)
