  • Yes plez
  • sure if it keeps me logged in im fine with one
  • Yes and no, if I lose my phone I want to be able to recover my accessibility quickly.
  • The option to have/use one would be ok, but a mandatory one, not.  Believe it or not, some people do use their intelligence to stay safe and good PW's and some actually don't use cell phones.
What?! This just makes too much sense to me... Its like you massaged my brain with critical thinking and common sense oil.
  • No, definitely not.

Let's be honest here, none of you has ever been "hacked". A lot of you confuse this definition with your own mistakes of account password sharing with a friend or putting your password in through a phishing site, or through some other ugly means of your own fault, and don't want to admit it.. You plead "hacked" to save embarrassment.

So, mandatory Authenticator? No thankyou. Completely unnecessary annoyance for those of us who have more than 3 brain cells.

This is why we get burglar alarms we know the likelihood of being hack is low, but in that rare case where it happens we have protection

Especially with this game cause some people spended over 10.000 on it, so thats a little more attractive to hackers than a regular/general account on every other game.
  • I would say yes. It is never bad to have security.
  • Some kind of authenticator or two-way autherization for new locations is needed for extra security imo. Makes me sleep better at night ;)
  • Yes please

Looks like making it optional is the best idea. I've never been 'hacked' or have left my password lying around/made it super easy, but I'd rather have an extra layer of security. Having to type one in from an authenticator can be annoying, which is why I like battlenet's current system.

Or at least the system where you have to verify your details or something if your account is logged in from a vastly different IP, like Guildwars 2 has for example.
  • I don't really matter. For me it is just a hassle to enter 2 codes instead of one every time I want to log in.

What if I am in the middle of a siege or dungeon and I disconned. I would want to get back as soon as possible, but the 2 factor authentication is slowing me down.

I am confident in my passwords, so I don't really need authenticators. If they are optional, I don't mind having them.
  • Hmm, absolutely have 2-step verification for anytime a new IP logs on to an account, big purchases, all of that. But make it optional. There are people that will want to play that do not have the ability to use an authenticator. Really, this should be an option in all games now.. I personally use 2 step whenever it's available.
  • Yes please, my WoW account got hacked a lot when I didn't have an authenticator.

I like mobile authentication apps that automatically send the code to the game when you click a button, rather than having to manually type in a string of numbers.
I live in the boonies, where my cell is spotty. Options would be nice. PC, token, mobile (auto send and manual enter). Give people a little incentive to secure their account by throwing in a pet or something.
  • @Jynxx I actually still have my original keychain authenticator from WoW, what I used until I quit like 6 months ago. I like that option more than the phone TBH. As you say, phones can be spotty and this runs independently.
  • It would be nice to have it be optional.
I don't have a smartphone. The last time I had to do 2FA it was a hassle to find a program that could read QR codes in the way that 2FA requires
  • Yes. Noone wants their work to be stolen or lost.
  • No. 2nd step verification often entails something I do not have or what I do not wish to give out. Mobile phone, 2nd email address etc. I also don't want to have to jump through 20 hoops to log in. I have a strong PW so let me take the risk. It is not my bank account. I played a MMO that required so much to log in I quit. Just wasn't worth it. There comes a point when the protection just is not worth it.
