Unarmed/Fist Weapons

Hello all, just made an account to ask this question. Will there be Unarmed skills or perhaps Fist weapons?
Hand to hand fighting is something I always look for in any game I play, especially multiplayer MMOs. Being able to punch my enemies in the face is something I hold near and dear to my heart. Nothing is more satisfying than beating someone using a weapon with more reach with my nothing more than my fists.

No confirmation either way, but probably no, since they are going with the tried and true European medieval weapon trope for their fantasy setting.

 I believe through custimization around the skills, a psuedo-class can be created like this. Since Intrepid also promised people creating a skillset  similar to Necromancer type classes, I think we can expect more to come like Druids, Healers, Enchanters, Dual Weaponed Pirates, Monks, Samurai etc. etc. I also think they'll let weapons to be chosen by the player, because for Mage using the same looking book for the rest of the game is dull. I think they will add more variety for players to choose to customize their own thing.

Im just happy I have grimoires  in the game but I would love to see some sort of claw or fist weapon

Perhaps Qatar options for some rogue + X classes.

Brass knukle like device with a curved blade on the knukles I'd like to see, or something like it.

Since I would like to play a martial arts type character, I'd love these.  Fist wraps and bare feet even.

Sightly off topic, would your character that fights with hand and foot wear light armor or would you try to go for no armor or heavy armor?

Either a mix of heavy arms and legs with maybe a full helmet to cover the face, or mostly full heavy.
Also as a side note, I hate claw weapons. I don't want to slash or stab,  Strike/Blunt damage all the way.

An unarmed fighter in full plate?
Not so much a traditional martial artist as much as a heavy bruiser.

Light armor or supper soft flexible leather such as deer or calfskin.   
I'd love to see hand wraps and other martial art type weapons.

My thought would be the same as @CylverRayne light or soft and flexible.  My body would be my weapon so to speak.  I'd like it to be sort of configured on the old TV show Kung Fu, as I would like to follow a divine path.

I'd love to see a martial artist class with fist weapons. I'm not confident it will happen, though. Maybe we'll get a welcome surprise?

Hello, I've heard they're discussing implementing this into the game With different fighter type classes hand to hand combat would be a very interesting thing to see, with hopefully lots of lunges, stuns and grapples.

Hm.. bonuses for  using such a specific weapon(esp. gloves) will probably receive specific "frontal" classes(combinations) like specialists in self-defense / matrial artists-bruisers-grapplers/monks/friars/adepts like disciple(Vanguard:SoH) or Savage(DaoC).
We still do not know much about the design of class combinations.

Oh man I had If I could make a monk like class with fist weapons I think I would lose my... oh man that would be awesome.

Never liked classes that use unarmed combad, little dull. IMO.

No, but people think if they say something enough it will become true. Take a look at the list of weapons from todays test that are available in game, not an unarmed or fist option to be found.

Oh thanks for the information! I have a friend who plays nothing but monk type classes and he's been wondering about this. Hopefully they add something like it.

Fists are confirmed in game.

Our characters do in fact have hands.

But can we use those fists as weapons?

No one will choose unarmed when they could have a cool weapon in hand.
They would have to rework combat just for those unarmed folk, never going to happen.

How would they have to rework the combat to add another melee option? It doesn't even have to be unarmed. Take the classes in lost ark for example, there are three different types of fist classes and they all use weapons. I'm pretty sure one of them is the most popular class(even though I can't really recall the name) and also Tera's brawler. Never say never my dude and don't underestimate the amount of people that would actually play something like this.

It started with me googling and finding this was the only topic about it. I only really wanted to know if it was confirmed or not but it got a little attention since I posted a comment on it.
