  • I think the other options are sufficient, TBH.  It'll be interesting enough to come up with 3v3 and 5v5 builds.  2v2 would probably be whatever the meta OP damage dealer plus a pocket healer vs... you guess it, the meta OP damage dealer plus a pocket healer or perhaps the meta counter build.  Sounds boring.  I know there will be "standard" 3v3 and 5v5 builds, but 2v2 just boils it down too much I think.

    3vs3 is also meta if you want to play meta wise.
  • most efficient premades are usually 1 big dps with 1 powerfull healer. So yea, 2v2 should be the most intense fights
  • Nah! Wow has ruined 2v2s for me, either them being unfairly unbalanced, or playing games for 15 minutes and losing. Maybe if they make them properly balanced? But I think that 1v1 and 3v3 will be all I need, one to test my individual strength! Another to play with some friends and kick some ass!

    That is not because "you dont need 2v2" that you "need" to refuse it to others players ...
  • 2v2 would in reality be cleric and x vs cleric and x. So why have it at all.  Having a healer in a 2v2 scenario would be so much stronger than anything else.

    Yep. And to be full efficient the healer and the dps have to be really compatible and used to play together. That need real coordination, not like 5v5 were it start being zergs fight.
  • why not 6v6 or 7v7? 1v1 and 3v3 fit different concepts and make sense, 2v2 just doesn't fit into any playstyle without it being "one good healer and one good DPS"

    If we have 1v1 and 3v3, I see no need for 2v2.

    Having a group fights with each primary archetype represented would be fun. Perhaps 8 vs 8 could even force you to bring 1 of each primary archetype.
    I think 8v8 would be the most interesting, especially if you do HAVE to take one of each archetype. There will be heaps of differences with all the archetype augments so more than enough room for interesting combos.

    @FliP Well, that the case for deads p2w games. If AOC is healtly and they make in place inter servers areneas, without any entries limits, you wont have to wait more than 10secs for any  "X vs X" proc.
  • I play to to 1vX, I enjoy overcoming overwhelming odds. 
  • Just a thought what if there was a system that allowed for any combination of x vs x but only for non ranked matches and have ranked matches for 1v1, 3v3, ect.. that way the people that want to have some 'weird' match (2v2, 1v3, whatever) can do so and it doesn't have to effect the players wanting ranked matches... BTW I am thinking that only the ranked matches need to be worried about with balancing
  • Lack of any other options made me choose no. 1v1 is basically a duel. I just hope they don't balance it around these concepts. Some classes should inherently be weaker against other classes.

    It sounds all fine, but let's take a realistic look at a community in general. This is not targeted at anyone in particular. But people in online games they have high amounts of pride, also referred to sometimes as e-peen. This in itself isn't that bad. But when say a rogue, finds it exceptionally difficult to take down a warrior. History shows us that complaints are going to flood the forums. With the flaming and git gud type of comments following, it rarely ends well. And, as I've seen too many times, certain classes and specialisations get nerfed because of it. Which effects me in pve if say I was a frost based mage. Not to mention, future content and thus new spells and stuff will be designed with the experience gained by these complaints. Legit as they may be for pvp.

    What higher numbers of people will do, is allow groups to go, right, what do we have, what are our strengths, weaknesses. If the amount of members in your team is too low. Say 2v2 in a system balanced as a whole, and not around the arena system. It could essentially be a dice roll if you win or not. Unless your skill is a lot higher. But for sake of argument, assume equal skill levels. Class balance should be taken as a whole. Which creates unfair situations in these types of arena matches, angering people.

    Ok, if I'll have to wait for longer than 10 seconds for any arena queue, I'll get back to you for a refund.

The Blade of Stabby-stabs gives me an advantage they have never seen or have a counter for. Screams of Unfair!! and Rabble, Rabble, Rabble will ensue.

    Not to mention it tends to wreck a community. Look at the WoW servers.

    Well, they dont know for sure, but instanced was maybe cross server. But nothing final on that.
