  •      I'm in favor of not having a fast trip, except for a riding animal or carts in caravans, but...
'Do not go back to the house' is interesting, but it would be nice to buy a scroll of the portal in your node to return home (to leave the game in the wild so that later it will be extremely dangerous to boot into the crowd of enemies).
Still it would be possible to establish in several wild places of the world stationary portals (left from an ancient time) for moving between them.
On the issue of the scientific node, after development in it, for example, there could be a universal portal for moving to any stationary portal or another Nod.
On the issue of the long-distance teleport skill: it can be developed in 1-2 classes, for example, magician / magician or magician / summoner.

  • It would be interesting if we could establish boat and train routes. I like the idea of expedited travel this way but they need activities we can do to kill time while riding them.
I am not sure why but the thought of repelling a monster attack from on top of a moving train makes me happy.

Someone's been playing AC Syndicate :p

    Or Final Fantasy 15
  • Make teleportation expensive, not as a gold sink but as a craftable object.
    or
Only fast travel those that are part of a node can teleport to node cap while inside node area.
    or
Make it a class skill that is tiered.
    Or
Do whatever... <- I have a feeling AOC will pick this one.  B)

  • They have indicated that Scientific Node Metropolises will have an option for fast travel to nodes within the Zone of Influence of that node. No other fast travel confirmed, most fast travel denied.

I'm looking for a big friend who will carry me around. He will hopefully be slow witted but loyal and strong. Maybe he will just say the same word all the time, like Bodor or Lodor...
    How about Xombie?

  • Make it a class skill that is tiered

I also think it should be a class skill or combination skills of many classes.
  • I personally like the idea of no fast travel, along with what seems the majority of people, but I do think it would be awesome if there was some sort of "quicker" travel between metropolis zones. Not for mounted or caravan setups, but like what you can carry in your backpack and explore the world more, or participate in the raid that's near the metropolis.

I also think there NEEDS to be mounts of varying forms that stick to lore and the immersion, because I want to explore, but not at a walking pace!
  • I wonder if I can use gravestones to teleport to places  :/

Ah yes, the downside of modern travel, packed in like pilchards having to share a coffin with a complete stranger...
  • What are your thoughts on in-game travel, how should it be implemented?

Although "Portals" are great, I always feel it takes away from the game much like a "fast-travel" option in RPGs. I think a debuff to make fast travel less appealing would be good unless it was returning to a "home" or something along those lines.

    Thoughts?
I liked one way we traveled back in the early UO days. A crafter could make a book that could carry X amount of runes, and a player could set each rune to a very specific location, any location. So if I had a 20 book, I could mark 20 locations. Made a craft worthwhile too, not just fluff.

I'm not in favor of a port on every block, the "starbucks" effect.

Sounds like an upcoming episode for the crew of the USS Discovery.
