I don't want to see a gazillion action buttons and toolbars

  • Like I said, activating a semi-permanent/toggle buff or fiddling with a crafting menu are not things that would require a quick time-is-of-the-essence combat-style keybind, so I don't care how many of those there are

There's a big difference between wanting a gazillion "skills" and wanting a gazillion combat-triggered life-or-death keybinds.

The former is fine, while I consider the latter to be terrible kitchen sink game design.
  • Game Pad and MMO Mouse :)

I still have my Belkin N52 Speedpad from when I played EQ1 it has outlated all my computers, laptops, mice and keyboards lol Belkin makes some good stuff.

    Logitech G600 MMO Game Mouse

Really hoping with what they say with lots of customize you can alter the row and column amount on hotbars :)

MMO's are complex I like having a lot of options / lots for hot bars.

I mentioned it in another thread but the Naga Razer mouse is fantastic in the case of multiple toolbars. A 12 key pad plus an M4/M5 button around the thumb, for a total of 14 thumb keys, and it's weighted so that it glides on any mousepad. The wireless version doesn't even have noticeable lag.

Yeah the Naga is nice indeed wish the Logitech 600 felt as nice but the G600 has something unique I have not seen on the other MMO mice. The index finger button.

Correct me if I am wrong but the Index spot on the Naga is a finger rest correct, not a button? On that G600 that index button on the right side of the mouse is so economical and amazing as a shift function button. If the Naga had this function I probably would have gotten it over the Logitech. Let me know if that has changed.

You should check out the Razer Nostromo N52te speed pad. It is the newer one. Tho I bet the original Belkin one will out last the newer one. I've had my Belkin N52 since just after the release of EQ1. I am amazed it still works. There are other game pads that have more buttons and bells and whistles but the speed pad is the most ergonomic and functional one I have had the pleasure to try out. I think you can still get the Original version on the Web but, the newer one is probably fine it looks better.

@Isabelle please let me know if the Naga has the index finger button now or if it is still just a finger rest TY.

Oh yeah you mean the ring finger :p
It's just a finger rest and it's very comfy, I don't think I could handle the strain using it as a shift button, I'm trying to avoid carpel tunnel.

I never really used a gamepad before because I never needed one. My layout is usually esdf and not wasd, it lets you reach more buttons with one hand

  • Haha right the ring finger right hand. Thanks for correcting me. It takes almost no effort to use it.
  • Yeah the G600 has the ring finger button. Mine is set as ctr not shift though.
