Not sure, if you could actually kinda seperate it as the game is Open PvP.
As far as I see it, PvE will be for creation and growing civilization and PvP for destruction. Like a wrecking Crew to take down cities to make space for the neighbour Nodes.
PvP is also for creation. Steal neighboring nodes resources to grow your own node, while not letting other node prosper over yours.

If you harvest resources in another node you are giving experience to the node you harvested in, so unless what you are harvesting is more valuable than the experience it kind of cancels out.

May be he say, killing the neighbor and getting his resources as loot

    That would make more sense

Ofc. Kill and take, deal a blow to your opposition as well as their resources.
  • I will focus on PvP mostly but ofc a mix of both depending on what you have to do to get the best gear/weapons in the game. I would like to see a different combat system in the game tho more action combaty instead of tab target. Looking forward to testing things out tho!
  • Both looks to be the only real answer in the context of stated development vision. The competitive node mechanic + node advancement gating to higher level PvE makes them catalytic to each other. Even a gathering / crafting character will be part of this dynamic to advance their community and access higher level craft or better markets.
  • PVE for me.  I love questing, exploring, gathering and crafting.  My experience with PVP in other games usually involved being ganked by someone (or multiple someones) so much higher in level than me that I never stood a chance.  I especially love the ones who wait until I'm fighting a mob and then attack.  And if they can time it right so they get caught in my AoE aimed at the mob, and thus the game thinks I attacked first, then so much the better for them.  So I tend to avoid PVP.  In AoC I thought I might give it a try if it's something like defending a caravan or my town\node.
  • Crush. Kill. Destroy.
  • I love pvp but Ive come from an mmorpg that i focused majority of my time on pvp and did some hardmode raiding but I will focus more on pve in AOC  and since it will be the place to get best gear for pvp so looks like most will have to do pve. which is good I could like the change
  • Just like always I have started off every MMO big on the pvp aspect however I somehow find myself having to go PVE because the best gear is in raids/pve content even for PVP! if this improves on those shit systems than I will gladly PVP
  • PvE is a means to an end, utilized to maintain gear and dominate the PvP scene.
  • PVE
    Only PVE

What about the world PvP? You just won't engage?
  • Sounds to me like a death situation

Sounds like an easy gank, just wiggle him down and let his love for PvE and killing trash mobs do the rest.

    Fixed.

I honestly won t be malicious or flag on plebs, I have very precise goals and I won't hinder myself and go red to nothing.
  • Decent
  • I hope that PvE directly influences some kinds of PvP.
Arena ladder PvP for instance should be evened out in equipment to keep it fait.
But concerning the sieges the guild which did more dungeon runs/raids should be geared out better and therefore have an advantage over the guild which just sat on there asses doing no PvE.

A well adept PvP player will ruin a PvE player regardless of gear score, it's no contest. That being said, they have already addressed concerns for gear balance, especially between the two content variants, I would source it but that takes effort and I don't this post is worth it.
  • Yep thats why I will demolish
  • I voted PvE, although I love PvP as well - albeit only under the right conditions. In games where lag, bad class balance, pay to win or quantity > quality are big, PvP tends to be pretty unenjoyable for me.
  • Considering PvP and meaningful conflict are one of the main pillars of the game, I am hoping for thorough optimization to offer the most enjoyable PvP as humanly possible.
  • Imma be a ganker and spanker
  • Generally PVE but will certainly be prepared to defend my territory or possessions, by myself or with others, as necessary. 'Speak softly, but carry a big stick!' as they say.
I'll start in game by quickly sharpening up a few necessary skills in that respect.

Enjoy your negative karma and debuffs. Know you limit, play within it!
  • I am also equally interested of PvP and PvE.

At the moment i am maybe a little bit more interested of PvP, because battles like city wars and ambushing caravans sound really nice. I am also a fan of open world PvP what it comes group fights or ZvZ, but i guess that is where aint the focus in AoC. I am totally fine with it, because i know it will also cause problems and griefing even it is fun for others.

What it comes to PvE (from combat pov) side of the game. I have not seen anything so innoative yet, even there will be all the basic stuff from dungeons, raids and world bosses. Making group composition meaningful from class special skill point of view is nice add even it might cause some grouping problems. I still hope to see something new from PvE. Some ideas to evolve dungeons and raids even further.

  • PvE for sure. BDO ruined pvp for me forever.
  • Aw, this post ^^^ is sad for multiple reasons.
Marijuana should never be a bummer and one bad experience shouldn't dictate your future endeavors...
