  • @Ferryman Maps won't be completely accurate.  Ex, Tavern quests all be word of mouth, "somewhere near the east side of this mountain" kind of deal.  I'd imagine they'd be able to increase the accuracy of player maps.
  • I've always liked the summoner classes the best for solo and group purposes. I don't know a lot about the classes yet but Necromancer and Enchanter sound fun to me. I think because my wife and daughter will be playing with me this time around I'd want to be a Bard as they (in other games) have been great group support classes.
  • @Ferryman The only way it works is if the UI doesn't have a traditional maps. Perhaps very basic maps with the lay of the land in certain areas are purchasable. But got later areas the maps can be user created and sold, detail is based on the skill of the cartographer. Skills unlocked could include the ability to add resource points, points of interest like a ruin or library. Mainly I want to be a herbalist and hoping that there's more to it then picking flowers. But I also want to explore which is where the Cartographer idea came about.
  • Is there actually any game where cartograph is a thing?
  • I've not played a game with it but looks like it's a thing in this game

Something like this would be cool, most people would probably to have basic skills in Cartography to be able to use maps.

  • I think that would be cool, instead of being a gatherer/crafter, you could find those spots, mark em on your map, and sell the maps.  Higher levels means more details on your map, and because the world changes, the maps would need frequent updates from the Cartographer!

CoE will most likely have release date somewhere Q2 at 2019. So i am not sure how that carthograph will work there in practise. Well it could work just fine, but i am still a little bit sceptic about this matter.
