  • Your welcome.
Personally I hope it is not even an option to see peoples gear/stats/build.
Never been a fan of people being able to inspect your gear and be able to exclude people from things based solely on the gear we currently have.
Sure a lot of us have seen it happen where someone in less then optimal gear but is a good player dominates where peeps in the best gear still stand in the fire.
Everyone's DPS drops to 0 when you die from not moving or unable to perform. I would rather have a good player with us VS someone Speced into the FTM build with all the right gear.
    Personal preference.
  • The answer was no you will not be able to view peoples gear/level.
This is more or less confirmed with gear, but not level.

Since corruption will have a scaling penalty based on level differential, the level of other players becomes an essentially piece of information. You can't scale a penalty based off of a piece of information, and then not give players that information.

As such, it will have to be displayed and accessible to all players - most likely on player nameplates.

Not confirmed. Maybe they will make it a surprise. You just go randomly attacking people, you take the consequences. "If I had known he was a scrub, I wouldn't have harassed him. I only harass people that give me the least negative consequences!"

    True, it isn't confirmed.

However, since Steven has talked a bit about threat assessment and player agency, taking this out of players hands goes kind of fly directly in the face of that.

So, using the words "have to" was maybe a bit strong, but imo the point stands.
  • Steven and Jeffery both said "Visual ques"  might mean more corruption make you glow redder. But all is speculation until they show us something definite or we see it in alpha/beta ourselves and play with it.
