@Atama I understand your point and feel somewhat the same way, but the "Meatloaf" is not for sale in this metaphor. The "Meatloaf" is free of charge.
You can buy stuff in Apocalypse, but as far is I understand, the items you unlock will later be available in the MMO itself. I might have misunderstood something in regards to this, I am not quite sure?
The beta is of course free. I suspect (I don’t know for sure) that you’ll need an active AoC account to play it after launch just like the MMORPG, so at that point it’s not free.

Or in my analogy you could say that everyone buying a cake is handed a meatloaf as a freebie, a meatloaf that might make them lose their appetite even if they don’t eat it.

I am still a fan of IS but I think this is another mistake, like the summer sale that included one or more items promised to be exclusive in the Kickstarter. Nobody is perfect but I think it’s good to call them out if they’re doing something that seems wrong.
Pretty sure summer backing had their own items and that the kickstarter exclusive goals (the ks armor, fx, etc) will not be given to them either ?
Lifetime subscription was. :(
Ah that one, well can't say I wasn't slightly annoyed but at least they had the whole pay-pal excuse back then which seems acceptable and at least separated the cosmetics even giving the ks backers the chance to buy the summer ones but not vice-versa.

or when Jaffa cakes when from 10 to 8 per box!
• Jaffa cakes...got introduced to them during Landmark/EQNext content creator who was always eating them. Nice little snacks, we can get them in the USA in the speciality section of Krogers.
• I totally get your point @Atama I misunderstood it in the begining then

True jaffa cake eaters leave the jelly for last. Toffee jaffa cakes are the best.

while that is true the point remains the reduced the size and kept the price
• First it was the kit-kats...then the Jaffa cakes....

I may have just figured out what's going wrong with this world.

@Teldar remember to sign up on the website too. Most people which have been signed up have recieved mail already as far as I understand.

@Jahlon and @Atama you are absolutely right. Intrepid is following the rulebook and have explained the difference between the two and made it somewhat clear that the it is a Beta for Apocalypse and not the MMO. I believe most of us here on the forums are aware of this. I think my "complain" is that there have happend too big changes too quickly which have caused this misunderstanding for some of the more casual players... and of course the term "Beta" used about Alpha progress.

I'm going to be honest, the major reason why I'm running the the "Prophet Shillon Snow - Herald of the voice of the Lord and Sandal" shtick on the discord is because SOMEONE needs to translate Steven's vision to a language the common person.

As you can see here <https://www.paradoxgaming.net/the-steven-answer> I do that. I ask a pretty spicy question, get a response, and then paraphrase that response back to him so ensure he's had a chance to

Say what he means
Hear what we've heard
Refine this point

This is a skillset I developed for many years translating Senior Leadership vision (aka General's Missions) into the daily tasks for the Enlisted (the common people).

Right now I think energy and excitement are running wild (which is a good thing) but its causing disconnects.

Like the entire staff size thing from the most recent live stream. Not damning at all, but a thumb in the eye.

• To be fair, while I think a Company should do everything in their Power to make people understand what they are doing and where they are going, it is impossible to reach everybody.

Some people just don't want or are unable to understand the things the Company tells them.
So far, I for myself am happy how Inteprid are with explaining things. I do see much "confusion" regardless of it, so that's that.
• @Jahlon I think we need more of that. Interviews where things are caught in plain simple and understanding words.

Good job with in point questions.

To be honest I can't see a way that they should salvage the situation should it be a huge problem for a few people. If they do change something now, it will probably only add to the confusion.

Just buy the cheap knock-offs, even more of them for quarter the price.
