Yeah WoW gets its difficulty in the maxlevel high tier challenge dungeons and mythic raiding. But that is only the case because everything can nearly one-shot you and you have to either cheese the mechanics or play perfect.

Yeah that doesn't sound that fun to me, plus the tab targeting makes me feel limited and even when there's tons of actions I just stand there and press buttons lol

I played a rogue until the beginning of the first raid in BfA and to be honest... It was all muscle memory.
I was a high end mythic raider and honestly dont remember any of the raids, I was just hitting the boss, and all my rotations were seriously already muscle memory, i didnt really have to switch anything up and then i noticed how WoW wasnt any fun anymore.
That kinda hurt, because I litterally grew up with wow, and always came back to it and my rogue. And then suddenly everything was just grey... i started asking me questions that i didnt think of.
"Why am i even doing these world quests? To get more reputation, so i can grind for a mount? And then comes the next rep and the next, then for the azerite."
"Why am i raiding still? I have the current best armour until it gets replaced with the next best armourlevel and the numbers grow and grow and yay...."
And from one day to the next one I just... stopped.
Well, now I am sitting here, go out more, and wait for Ashes of Creation.

One of us! One of us!
Seriously, this was me back in MoP while flying off with my paladin to grind yet more rep with yet another forgettable faction.
As long as AoC is not endless zones of loot pinatas and has most of the promised features I'll be quite satisfied.

Heck yea! I hope ashes will be amazing for you! Yeah I can imagine how amazingly fun WoW used to be but with their not being (As far as I've seen) much of anything ACTUALLY new being added i can see how people get tired. I know they add tons of new "Content" But most of it is story quests and new bosses and raids from what I've seen. I haven't seen them add anything like new core systems or reworking something majorly because it's too big of a risk seeing how big and successful they are. I hope ashes can be different and add more than just a new zone or boss to fight. Perhaps new systems and mechanics, minigames or whatever it is. that would be amazing.

Hey guys! I mostly play games like CS:GO and RUST. I have about 4 - 5 k hours in the both and them and would like to know what makes mmorpg games special to you! I've had no interest in them because the combat seemed so lack-luster to me, being the tab targeting stuff. But seeing that ashes has BOTH tab and action that seems amazing. I feel like seeing tons of people going together and killing bosses and stuff could be amazing and fun! Anyway just let me know your most fun times in mmorpg games and if you think ashes will be a great starting point for me~! <3<3 much love ^-^

WELCOME! I know a few people that are new to MMO/MMORPG and Ashes of Creation may be your best choice to start at if they deliver what they are selling.

For me, world of warcraft vanilla felt like a whole complete work of art. Every day I spent in it, I explored and quested, and struggled to level. Some zones were really hard to level in and you needed to grind, but it was worth it to see such a fully realized world.

Now I want to explore a new world one thats learned the lessons of WoW and wants to do something different. I expect a very interesting interaction between the community and the world and what happens.

I definitely think it will be worth the money down.

Hmm well since you never played mmo's before you won't be a carebear who does not want open world pvp (especially if you played rust) so that's one good thing about AoC being your first time. Besides if you manage to find some good friends and/or guild then you are in for a lot of fun times, imagine grabbing 20-30 people and just deciding to 'attack everyone you see' for fun c:

HECK YUS 0.0 That sounds awesome~! Hahaha rude.. but fun..! I love pvp! That was be pretty heckin fun!!! World pvp sounds awesome, I'd also love to try the PvE stuff too since I've never tried it! But I'll probably wind up mostly Pvping, we'll see though if PvE interests me I might to some of that too. I mostly just end up doing pvp stuff since those are the only games I play lol

I don't know how everything is handled... but to level up your character pve will be faster I think. You'll die several times if you just focus on PvP without levelling and gearing up 😅

Also I don't know how the ping will be, I can't tell ya if I will play NA or EU. 6 hours difference.

But if yes, I will do some PvP too... I will go exploring and collect some creatures for breeding

Well yeah regardless of whether you focus on pvp or pve you still have to do the other just because of how Ashes is structured, unless you don't need the best gear and want to miss a lot of content xD
  • mmorpgs are too outdated these days.
What draw my into mmorpgs in the early 2000s was group pve, the challenge and a sense of persistent progression and a secondary world.

Lets hope open world pvp and other things change that, I honestly can't get into any mmo I try these days, I could play Allods Online if it wasn't so fucked these days since that game has a strong nostalgic factor for me c:

Well yeah I ONLY play pvp games, but I feel like I'd want to try PvE a lot in ashes. I just would like something different, seeing as I'm 16 and literally have only played like 3 different games majorly. I haven't even been able to sit through any singleplayer game besides Skyrim. I will DEFINITELY be doing High end PvE and PvP.

Well I doubt Ashes will be outdated on the Graphics side, lets just hope they bring refreshing gameplay to MMORPG veterans. For me this won't really be a problem, seeing as this will be my first MMORPG. <3
