when it comes to character creation I like it to have options like BDO did. they had preset options then you could go in depth from there, making it possible that most characters could be unique. I just hope it isn't like the boring slandered character creators that most mmorpg games do just a hand full of options and that's is little to no sliders with little to no differences when moved.
If I am making a male character I want him to look cool and unique like a superhero or If I am making a female character aka "game waifu" as some may call it I want their umm "assets" to have a variety of sizes: boob, butt, legs waist, the works. cuz when I am staring at a character for a long time I want to be happy with how my character looks especially since I will be grinding for hours for days looking at the same character.
before someone jumps on this post to burn me: you can call me shallow, at least I am honest. people get into games to escape the real world and its real life constraints.
The age slider is a big one for me. I am 46 years old.. and sometimes playing these characters that look like a teenager or barely into their 20's kinda ruins it for me. I survive, but the attachment is not there.
I tried BDO in the past and tbh, even though it gave really pretty results, it alway felt pretty hard for me to deviate from the base template.
I don't need exceedingly in depth face deformations etc. But give me:
- About 10-20 face types
- At least 15 hairstyles and some natural looking, even if exotic colors (I hate metallic looking multicolored hair in mmos)
- Lots of beards and moustaches and sideburns options
- Height slider (with minimums and maximums dictated by your selected race)
- 4 body types with a slider for shoulder-waist-belly width and torso-legs ratio
- Slider for nose length
- Slider for ear length and position for pointy eared races
- Tusk options for orcs and Tulnar (Orcs in WoW really could have used different styles of tusks like Trolls got)
- Each race should have something unique to them that they can customize

I'm a huge fan of BDO's character creator, but I did feel like a few sliders wouldn't let you go past the limits of an asian appearance.
E.g. I tried creating my friend's face in the game, but his skull is taller than you can make in the game, so I either had to make the head have a tiny forehead or have his eyes well below his ear line.
It made for a good laugh though.
In a few other character creators, jawline options felt limited to a slider between: \/ or |_| or (_) - but I really like how sims 4 lets you adjust the height and protrusion of the jawbone corners.
Also cheeckbones have been difficult to get right. Brow bones too. >:[
The hardest part of customization has always been mouths for me, they either end up looking puckered or stretched, and only the default settings look relaxed.
I really liked how BDO would let you shape eyes though, that was really good, and the ways you could customize haristyles in BDO was top notch!

I usually build younger looking characters that appear fit. I too would like a lot of hair options with decent length customization and a lot of color options. A nice tattooing system would be cool, even though a lot of tattoos will likely be covered most of the time by armor/clothing.
As long as you won't be able to have purple skin, noodle legs and huge bodybuilder upper body with a yellow beard im happy.
Anything that feels believable im happy with.
But to answer the question. Im planning to play a werewolf looking tulnar, so something hairy and crooked.
I currently plan for my main character to be a portly fellow with a beaming smile. Like a younger, chubbier version of Omid Djalili, rubbing his palms and selling used carpets in a Vaelune market. I hope that the sliders allow for a wide and short human build.
