  • Gimme MEH BETA KEY RIGHT meow!!!
  • I feel your pain guys :P But remember, even if you get a key, it to actually test the game and send feedback to the devs. And we don't want them to rush the game, we want THE mmorpg to save the genre!

Damn straight. I'm not new in term of testing new games.

I was a beta tester for Natural selection 2 ( sadly, not alpha, couldn't buy the game at a higher tier to get access to it... ) But before that, the pre-alpha was free to all to try and work with lua coding, in which couple of ideas even go through the released game, and it was community made code. Sure it was crude, but it sure brought a very basic game into an actual multiplayer testing ground stage, when it originally was not! ( it was literally just a single player shooting range, and people managed to lua code networking and lag prediction to have a battle royal between marines )

The other major game I tested on pre-alpha, in which I was very honored to test was the very first round of selection pre-alpha tester for EVE Valkyrie, a VR game that CCP developed. and I was glad to give reviews and and suggestion back to CCP, in which they listened to most of our pre-alpha tester team. Like, literally. It was great.

And if I get a key to test out Ashes of Creation, damn that they will probably will get tired of me posting stuff on the forum. Hah. The game looks promising, that's for sure, and I just can't wait to see that dynamic node system in action. And I certainly wish that they do not screw up the housing system like Black desert online did it.

They had a lot of good ideas, sadly, they scrapped most of them in favor of a more rudimentary system, that is similar to all other MMORPG.

Ashes of Creation certainly has the potential to really offers something new to the genre. While I'm very well aware that it also can hold a risk, because people, often doesn't like changes or innovation and simply goes back to what they know about the genre. Which is basically... Grind yourself to death, get best gear, be the best.

I do expect, somewhat, for Ashes of Creation to have a certain kind of grinding, but I sure hope it's not has bad as Black Desert Online, or Perfect World International.

Nothing so bad about them, but god damn that it takes a while and so much work.... And also so much RNG... If there is some RNG in Ashes of Creation, I won't mind that much, but please don't make it too punitive? xD

Anyway, enough of my rambling. o3o

Aw man... My post vanished into the void of internet for no apparent reason. Now I have to rewrite it all over again.

    But anyway...

Damn straight, I'm new in term of game testing, I do have some experience, and I totally agree with you.

I once been a pre-alpha tester for Natural Selection 2, after following its development for over 4 years. The pre-alpha was free for all that was following the project, showing a tech demo by being a marine in a shooting range, and the code was open source, coded in Lua, even several tester contributed to the LUA code to make that tech demo to be a crude, but playable, multiplayer, and even part of that code was used by the devs, albeit refined, yet still was a contribution. I sadly couldn't play the Alpha itself as I didn't payed an high enough tier, but I certainly had enough for the beta stage. And from that I still gave feedback from this stage and on.

Andother game, which I felt a lot more honored to test, was EVE: Valkyrie, from the company CCP. A Virtual reality game, and I was one of teh first selected on the first round for the pre-alpha testing stage, where most, if not all, the feedback from this pre-alpha tester team were listened, and the game progressed from our feedback. It was really great to test that game with the developing team.

And Hot damn that I'd be even more honored if I get to test Ashes of creations, because I'd be sure to give as much feedback as possible, suggestion and ideas, or maybe problem pinpointing. Heck, I am myself a roleplayer, I could even be a story writer... A shame they are based in California though... Too far for me, and... I have no money to actually move. AAAND I'm from Canada...

The game sure has a lot of potential, and even more to the fact that it is one of the few MMORPG that is made from north america, and not an asian made, like Black desert online is, which is Korean.

So being based in NA, it does mean, and with hope, that the developer team knows what NA and/or EU wants out of a game of this genre. And it offers so much innovation, just like I'm looking forward to this Dynamic node system. It's new. And great. It has a lot of potential, same thing for housing system. It has a lot of potential, and I pray that the devs keeps taking that route, and not give up that path, because some people dislike the potential change. Since after all. people dislike major changes, it scares them on the most part. And they do prefer to stick to a more conventional "tradition" that most MMORPG has.

Like the housing, the fact that the plan is to allow the player to build his own house, anywhere in the world is a really great idea, it will mean that each house is unique and meaningful. And not just some generic "every one can buy" house that are statics in the worlds. BDO had such idea, to make every house unique and you had to win an auction for it. Sadly, they decided against that idea that people was looking forward to. And made all houses to be purchasable by everyone, and each house is basically instanced. Which sucks.

    tl;dr

I wanna test that game, help it's development, while encouraging the dev team to not falter away from the path they are chosing. Take the risk. It's worthwhile. The Genre needs the change.
  • lol, this got my attention real quick xD well, like all the others, we just need wait, sit back and get hyped
  • All these capital letters and "rudeness" of some people is sad to see... You know you can find most of the information on the forums and FAQ. Check there first :)

Also it's common praxis that a game/product has a website to share info of what they are creating. Then about hype... hype is something created by the "users" based on the info they receive. Am I hyped? Most likely, since I believe in the concept they have for the game.
  • [quote quote=4330]Currently the game is in pre-alpha development stage, with alpha planned for the end of 2017 so there is no download available currently

I was JUST searching for this answer.
    Thanks mane!

  • Hello.
I've found this game on the MMOrpg.com website and it got me interesed. I like the graphics and the fantasy theme, so far is looking pretty good. But latelly a lot of preorder games are dissapointing the players, so I don't jump on the hype train just yet.
If the closed alpha is at the end of 2017, the release will be prolly early 2018 ... still a long way. Well, let's see how it goes.
  • We absolutely will, Enderr. Many games promise a lot of stuff, but come up short on their promises. We'll see with that game, and I'm willing to participate in intensive testing of this game to provide the necessary feedback to help it become the MMO we've all always wanted. The team is extremely close to their community and I can't wait to see what they can actually do with the game!

The release will be before 2020, but it won't be 2018, there will have to be a post-alpha and beta before that. So there is a longer wait than just until 2018. Although, the longer the wait the better the game will be when it is released!
  • So.....very.....long.....to.....wait!
  • Greetings from Russia\<ul>
