For this upcoming stream, we'd love to gather some questions from you to answer live! Please submit your question for our development team in the thread below, and we'll select 10 of them at random to answer at the end of our live stream. In order to accommodate a variety of questions from our community, please only post ONE question below, and the more direct/succinct the better! Submissions end Thursday, May 28, 2020 at 11AM PDT so we can select your questions before the stream.

    It was stated that ''there will be no one-shoting in Ashes''.(fights lasting between 30 seconds to 1 minute) How exactly will this be achieved - by reducing the effectiveness of gear (so that it doesn't become overpowered) and/or by balancing the abilities or something else?

    How involved will the sailing of ships be? Will it be something a single person can do, or will it demand an entire crew to raise, lower and turn the sails, drop anchor, etc.

    Is there an Adventure's Guild/Bounty Board to recruit people to help in sieges/caravans/etc. that are not citizens but want money/reputation for their work.

    Will there be a Summoner+Something class combiantion that is holy/light/divine themed in contrast to the undead/dark magic themed Necromancer? (If Necromancer is kept as a theme for Summoner+Cleric)

    I've noticed from the gameplay we've seen so far that weapon-specific abilities are on the hotbar and that activating those abilities immediately switches the weapon with no discernible cooldown (aside from the global cooldown). Is this how the gameplay is designed or is this just for testing purposes?

    How do you craft in a node (defensive items, siege engines) when a siege has been declared if all your gatherables are locked in storage, craft directly from storage or some other mechanic?

    Will there be more to do in the world than just the classic mmo formula activities like dungeons, crafting, and raiding; Things that bring life into the world, help flesh it out, tell stories through, and give points of interest to keep visiting/participating in?

    Brief Example -
    Such as a mysterious giant sized labyrinth that players can attempt to explore. Having a lofty entrance that players gather around before entering in groups. Randomly generated layouts with more than just walls, but obstacles, traps, and monsters that are within as well. Something people can keep coming back to and enjoying for fun or some form of gains/mysterious world knowledge/backstory hidden within. Things like this that may not even have creatures to fight, but have platforming or anything you can think of to give fun stuff to do with friends.

    I know you guys get this question every time Unreal Engine updates, but with the Unreal Engine 5 announcement they showed off some of the impressive new tech (especially Nanite). Is there any possibility you guys are looking to upgrade to UE5 in a future expansion/major update?

    would it be possible to visually accent your spells for additional customisation (as in just a change of particle colour) e.g. change the wavey aoe thingy to appear red instead of golden. or would we be restricted by whatever is set by the devs.

    this would allow someone to appear to cast like the red of a bloodmage healer or the green of a druid healer without changing the actual function of abilities (because function is restricted by primary/secondary class)

    I'm intrigued by the way you'll let the players shape the world around them.

    Have you considered making it so that i.e. if a lot of players take a shortcut or walk a lot on the same paths, the vegetation would gradually be replaced by a dirt trail? (which of course should be reclaimed by nature if not enough players per "unit of time" walked on it)

    Will PvP be TOTALLY open world? Or Will There be Non-PvP Zones (other than inside a town.) I have nightmarish visions of stepping out into the World and Getting Hit by the first griefers that spot my character trying to Harvest/quest/ or Farm. (Yes, Yes, Corruption system.. It Ain't working on a lot of MMOs I've seen so far, Some players just Don't Care)...
    The Truth has 3 sides, Your Point of View, Their point of View, and The Actual Truth, so, Be careful How you wield the Sword of Truth, It Cuts 3 ways!

    With the node system you guys are planning to have, how are you going to incentivize people to go into rivaling nodes and do various activities like gathering, exploring and killing mobs?

    Here's my Question: In the Latest tease from Steven that showed mage gameplay, we saw spells that used ground visuals to represent the cast time of that particular spell. Is this a standard with all cast time spells and abilities? Or will we eventually see traditional cast bars?

    A question regarding crafting: Will, for example, crafting work where you create components such as a blade, hangle, crossguard, pommel, and then combine these into a weapon? Or will it work like other games where you collect 5 ingots, 2 gemstones, and then poof you have a fully forged weapon?

    This could also lead to more interesting loot potential such as a boss dropping a sword blade, or an axe head, which can then be combined with other parts into an amazing weapon, as opposed to always dropping fully formed weapons/armour.

    For those of us who love adventuring and exploring the beautiful world of Vera, will there be a profession or skill related to Cartography (map-making)?

    This could be related to "unlocking" parts of maps either by yourself, or by purchasing maps and discovered areas from other players. Possibly with adding the ability to include 'notes' like "hidden winter passage here" or "hidden cave" marked over there, or "field of herbs found here" - similar to "stamps" like in other games, but more customization/personalization, up to and including letting other players see your notes/scribbles/treasure-locations/etc. (i.e. creating a "legend" to your map with markers, or a hidden 'key' to the legend). Perhaps this could lead to a secondary "treasure hunting" profession, unlocking quests, rare finds, and more!?

    How will group PvE work in such a dynamic world? Will there be a few set locations that won't depend on node progression or will end game PvE players be forced to find a new raid should a node regress too much?

    Weight or volume(meaning stack limits) for inventory management? We have been given both answers in a flip-flop-flip.
