Unless using that gets you in trouble for emulated keystrokes
nope it won’t.. works in every game

There are some games it doesn't work on.

Since all of these keyboards require specific software, developers can scan to see if you have it installed (depending on how invasive their anti-cheat software is).

Especially if you are alpha testing a lot of games, these kinds of scans are fairly common.
  • As long as my 17 button mouse works in game I'm happy. There isn't really a middle ground for macros. They either borderline required to play at all or they are completely useless except for a couple fun things you can do with them.

I'm for not clogging the chat with stupid crap and not making 1 button rotations.

The only time I feel the need to use macros in mmorpgs are when you have so many abilities that you need macros to combine them together into a reasonable number of keybinds. Since Ashes will only allow you to use 12 abilities at a time, this shouldn't be necessary.

Are they 12? I've read less than 30 from Wiki

30 abilities in total, but you can only use 12 at a time.

Pretty sure this is not true. I heard that you can invest 1 point into 30 skills or invest 30 points into 10 skills.

Also they did say that there will be additional hotbars as well.

  • I wonder if they will have commands like
    /target
    and
    /assist
similar to lineage2. Not sure how the assist command was called, but it was there.

This is very crucial for mass pvp.
  • The Wiki is not illustrative of what is actually going to be in the game yet. A lot of stuff that has been said can still change.

There is going to be tab targeting so you can just click a nearby target and cycle to the one you want. Assuming the tab targeting isn't **** in how it chooses targets.

WoW used to have tab targeting that always chose the target I wanted. Now it's garbage for instance.

Why click on a nearby target when you can click the actual target? Strange times we live in.

  • Well it's manual vs automatic. I'm not sure how they will define automatically targeting a unit, but it counts as automation in every other game. So acquiring targets through command might not be allowed.

Yeah, I would imagine acquiring targets through command could be considered a script, or, be used as the basis for a script. It would be a fine line to tread and should not be enabled. /Sit etc can be used in console but I doubt targeting will be a console command. Most people won't have time to type console commands in a hectic fight.

    Target Focus
    Target target's target

It was really useful. You set up a Focus, monitor, if you see a debuff you dispel. You never lost your actual target.

    Rift had macros like

    Dispel Bad Thing
    /target focus target
    /target current target

So with 1 button you dispel your focus if you had one or dispel your current target. For example in raids it was useful when 2 tanks where present, you didn't have to switch targets to dispel either tanks.

they only require drivers. tell me the name of the game you claim it don't work on.
