Greetings all! My name is Aggelos! I am the founder of The Dungeon Crawler Network a website for podcasting about MMORPGs.
A little history about myself at the age of 16 (I'm 30 now), I was gifted my first MMORPG to play with a friend that I met while on a FPS competitive team. That game was Ultima Online. This game is what hooked me into the MMO genre and after a few years of playing that game I moved onto Dark Age of Camelot which I played for the next 4 years (my second longest running MMO) until picking up World of Warcraft which I played for 7-8 years off and on (more on then off) and even raided as a member of a US Top 25 Raiding Guild during Wrath of the Lich King and Cataclysm expansions. I prefer “Dark Fantasy” themed RPGs as a rule for my gaming preferences.
I became interested in podcasting while following the development of Guild Wars 2. Having “guest hosted” on several podcasts, including ones such as Ascendents of Ascalon. When The Elder Scrolls Online was announced, I began heavily following this MMORPG due to his love of The Elder Scrolls series. This love of the lore and game is what drove me to start, Tales of Tamriel, with my wife, Thais. This was my first step into hosting my own podcast and eventually developed The Dungeon Crawler Network alongside Thais as a place to podcast about the RPGs that we love so much.
While I still love TESO (mostly for the lore of the world), I have become increasingly discouraged with the current AAA MMORPG genre. Everything I see is B2P/F2P crap where developers are less interested in creating interesting content for the game and instead trying to sell me that same horse mount with a different skin for another $30.
I am a raider at heart. I love the coordination of getting a group of people together and tackling a challenge together. I do enjoy PvP in the sense of a battleground type of thing or FFA open world PvP with consequences like in Ultima Online. I am intrigued with a sandbox type game as well because as I am getting older and the raiding scene has left me behind due to job and family concerns I have been more and more looking for a world I can "live in" and build a community for hence why I created DCN as a way to talk about the games I love and enjoy games with my friends.
