  • I'm planning on having lots of different characters, so it would depend on which I was logged in as.

But, if I was to choose one, just to answer the question, I'd want to be the CC'er who annoys the hell out of the enemy. Interrupts, knockdowns, stuns, etc.

Depends on what class I end up going with. I plan on being a Summoner (Brood Warden or Necromancer)
Which means, I'll just fling summons into the battle.

However, I tend to naturally gravitate towards a thievery type playstyle, which means I'd sow chaos in the backline by targetting healers.

It wont be as easy to progress and equip lots of characters to be competitive in PvP.

Ill be playing a brawler. Deal as much dmg as I can to the enemy dmg dealers and try to stay alive for as long as I can.

I'm planning on playing for a while. Let's say it takes me 3 months to max a character - that's four maxed in my first year. I don't need it all at once, I'm happy to put the time in. :)

  • 1. The sneaky dirty ranger or mage that deals dps / cc from far far away. Honor died on the beach!
    or
    2. The annoying healer running around in the back keeping everyone alive just for the sake of trolling the other team's attackers. If I ever roll a healer again, that is.

Imo, the most annoying healers are the ones that think they are more special than other guild members and keep banging "I am the healer, do as I say or else".

Hahaha, yeah. Although, that can happen with any role! :D

In the main fight I usually tend to disrupt, distract or come from the side to cause chaos. Class doesn't matter much, just influence how the job's done.

Out of the main fight I try to do the objectives people neglect. Watching the rear. Escorting lower levels, support classes or stragglers; doing side quests/objectives; scouting to find the enemy forces and communicating their position and movement.
Be bold. Be brave. Roll a Tulnar !

I'll be the one running around like a headless chicken, trying to hit the cleric, but then switching to the mage, and then back to the cleric. Maybe give a tank a whack or two to show him his place.
  • the annoying, unkillable wall that peels threats away from my DPS and Healers.

I tend to roll mage and a healer. So either one of those depending on what is going on and what is needed by the guild/group at the time.
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

I`m sure my latency will serve me just well enough to just be pvp fodder, take one for the team!

It's hard. I still have to pick a class. I damn sure am not playing healer again. I have spent too much time being pocket heals for friends in PvP.

If I had more time, I would write a shorter post.
  • In large encounters, the flanker who breaks the lines to support the main force.

In small groups, the one who teleports out of range of melee classes yet targets the back lines.

Basically, a Summoner with a Mage augment with the teleportation school. (I'm hoping that you can switch spots with summons).

None. Even in battlegrounds, I would mostly ignore the combat and focus on the objectives.

stand back summon skeletons and look fabulous

The dead do not squabble as this land’s rulers do. The dead have no desires, petty jealousies or ambitions. A world of the dead is a world at peace
  • Depends on if killing takes the player in question out of the equation for more than a few seconds. If that is the case -- since i mostly play summoners and dot specialists -- I would make sure as many as possible are hurt as severely as possible, letting the frontliners or my pets clean up.

If it is objective based with short respawn timers and short ways to the battlefield, I would rather go for the objective, since killing is a time factor and the objective is the way to win then, not kills.

I'm the healer trying not to be targeted first lol

Up in your face tank with HOPEFULLY a massive amount of crowd control capabilities. I want to be able to disrupt their front line while also protecting my healers/ranged when needed.
  • Sum12hateSum12hate Member, Alpha One, Adventurer
Well if beast master works out the way I hope it does I'll annoy the enemy to death
  • Driver
  • I know I'm going to go summoner (pet builds are best builds) which from what I've read so far are going to be a jack of all trades (summoning up to 3 with a choice between dps/tank/support) so I'm likely going to be whatever my party needs me to be at the time. Tank died? start switching over to tank summons. Need to burst down the enemy? Dps summons away! Stand back and look pretty? Hello support summons. Though standard set up is probably going to be one of each type for a more general play style until party needs me to adapt and specialize. Summoners are going to be very interesting to play I think.
  • I plan on being playing the role of a mage. Every other RPG I've played it seems like I've always played as a melee based warrior, so for me playing as a mage will be a new and exciting role to play as. Looking forward to it!

I will be the one kicking ass and taking names!

Realistically, it kind of depends on the info we get about the classes. I usually like to play hybrid healer types that afford a huge amount of sustain. I might not kill things as quick as a full DPS but rest assured I will be the only one standing when it's over.

Really hoping there will be a melee healer option because I have a lot of fun playing them. Paladin in WoW, Friar in DAoC and WarriorPriest in WAR are 3 good examples of my class choices.

Completely agree with you mate, personally planning on the beast master route very interested in the augments ranger would give to summoner gives my summons cc skills? Or maybe it actually goes with the name and give a little more variety to summons idk but I'm excited to try,

I agree with this partly. I'm a bit undecided between Cleric or Bard. I play support of some kind in all games I play because it's just what I find most fun. Typically I play a healer but few games do support well or at all, so I've got an eye on the Bard because it seems like it has potential. I'll likely have both but the question is which do I level first.

But for my Cleric I typically enjoy the same type of healer. Doesn't have to be melee, but definitely your traditional Chain/Plate wearing Cleric/Paladin healer that has heals for days, never dies, and is amazing and keeping their team alive through anything. They don't have a ton to offer in other departments but they make up for it by being unkillable and annoying their enemies any time they're around.

Bard, though reminds me of my Chanter in Aion which was a fun role as well. With a variety of great supportive buffs, debuffs, and heals, along with their dps abilities, they were in the thick of it meleeing with a staff, and switching between roles as needed. Always keeping an eye on the whole battlefield and your team, learning to anticipate their needs and pull out whatever skill they needed at that moment - is your healer falling behind? Is your team taking heavy damage and needs a defense buff? Is your DPS about to make a big push and needs an offensive buff or major CD? Or all is ok and you can charge in and wack the bad guys? True full support.
