The corruption systems/flagging system does not occur in Caravan PvP, Node Wars, Guild Wars, Node Sieges, Castle Sieges, Naval Combat in wide open sea (I believe), Trade Ship Raids and Arenas. Only in open world will you face Corruption mate.

Thank you, that sounds great! I'm starting to get really hyped for AoC

    No, he's not.

He basically just restated what Steven has said in the past.

Well, first off Atam didn't reference Steven, so that's another ball game and whilst I get it may be INTENDED to be a punishment, what I am saying is, there are some people that will enjoy it... if you can't understand that then I really don't know what else to say :)

There is no need to reference Steven with things that are generally well known.

Well without wanting to get into a disagreement, there is a need

    No, there isn't.

Not for things that basic and well known.

I mean, it is literally only one step to go from having to reference Steven when saying corruption is not a desirable state to having to reference Steven when talking about the fact that this will indeed be an MMO.

Honestly, that aspect of corruption is fairly central to the PvP system. Steven has refuted several ideas in the past that could provide incentive for players to gain corruption, because there should be no upsides to it.

If you are unaware of aspects of the game to this level, rather than us having so reference such basic things, perhaps you should just assume others know what they are saying. Would be much easier for all involved.

Sigh, the original point I was making was that players on an individual basis will want and enjoy being flagged....for all sorts of reasons beneficial or not... surely you grasp what I'm trying to say here or are you just arguing a moot point due to boredom or something?

Bounty hunters chasing you is such a small part of what it means to be corrupted that no - people wont gain corruption just so they can be chased.

It isn't worth the experience debt, material loss, item loss and inability to use node services.

If you specifically want people to chase after you, get yourself in to a guild war, or run a caravan.

While I didn't agree with the start of what triggered this conversation (about rewarding the hunted), I did understand the point that some people would have fun being chased.

I mean, the entire game of the children's game tag is the thrill of running away from the tagger and not being "it". So thinking in hypotheticals, yes I can see some people enjoying that every now and then.

    Indeed, I'm not disputing that.

I'm just saying that there are better ways to go about it if that is the gameplay you are after.

I'm not saying there isn't other/better ways to engage in bounties either Noaani, however some people, for whatever reason, will want to have corruption in play and be hunted... I for one won't be triggering the mechanism on purpose though that is for sure!!

I played Star Wars Galaxies aka SWG back in the day before Sony radically overhauled it; the Jedi bounty system was loads of fun, loved it both as a bounty hunter and a Jedi. It had no corruption attached to it however :)

At best then, what you agree you are talking about are people misusing a system in order to achieve the same functionality that can be obtained other places.

Such situations will happen with every system, and are not worth discussing unless those people will cause significant negative effects to other players, which is not the case here.
