One More Year

Friends and Frenemies: One more year of waiting for progress. Simply stated, IF AOC cannot fix frame rates, sign-in stability, and mechanics - I am out. It costs this ardent Hero $1K a year to support two guilds. Yet I hear from unknown names that either are noobs or re-named older playahs as white knights lately. So @Lex can be the silent supporter. The launch may be a bust. I say this as the 'doubting thomas' has good intentions while others are not touting reality. Be Safe during COVID times. Skaff,

Not sure if you've broken NDA but I appreciate your viewpoint. I don't try to be a White Knight but I find the Dark Knight cool (Batman). I hope you don't leave. I appreciate your posts. Ashes needs time, its not even past A1 yet mate.
The other is subjective.
Why you are paying to "support two guilds" in relation to a game that is still years away from release is beyond me.
Maybe you'd find it an easier wait if you cut down on your spending...?
later half of 2023 is my guess
But...we don't even know about how these things are played out...since it's not out? And any information regarding these types of things would only be known by the people currently under a Non-Disclosure Agreement, so they wouldn't be disclosing this information anyways, and if they did that'd be pretty crummy for them.
Spend your money how you like, but as this game is far from release I don't know why it would cost so much to support a guild at this moment. If these guilds are for different games then the cost wouldn't relate to Ashes anyways.
Not sure why the name calling is needed, just seems a bit rude. However, taking into consideration the alpha timeline we've been given, then considering the beta will still come before release, I'm not sure what your basing the 'launch busting' on. Any data/information we have now, on the mentioned topics, most likely won't be relevant in a years time anyway.
In fact, I actively try to temper it, if that hype is build on incorrection information.
What Ashes is, at least right now, is the best shot at a good MMO we have. People that want to play a good MMO and are not interested in WoW's bullshit, ESO's ambiguity or FFXIV's small thinking really have nothing at all to play. The only games on the horizon that could fit the bill there are Ashes and Pantheon, and most of us that are here have simply opted for Ashes over Pantheon for our own reasons (for me, it is because I have played games made by all the senior staff at Intrepid, and I have always considered their work to be the best in the business).
There is no point in getting worked up about this game right now. Full release is 2023 if absolutely nothing goes wrong, which is why I am putting it some time in 2024 myself.
If being excited for the game is causing you issues - as seems to be the case here - absolutely take a step back. Come back in a year or so - other than having new information to familiarize yourself with, you won't miss out on anything.
"It's useless to deal with them.
Honestly, I don't even want to take the effort to post this sentence in this thread.
I apologize if you are using the term without malice.
But if you are just saying these words to harass everyone, please leave this forum now.
And please do something useful for the people around you.
You are not doing yourself or anyone else in this forum any favors.
Just to be clear, I won't be throwing any more words at you, I don't want to think about anything unpleasant for even 0.1 second.
I am really curious. What costs a thousand dollars a year to maintain? I have been a member and an officer of many guilds over the years, some of them small and others massive upwards of 2000+ people. Some of them used teamspeak and had their own websites. Yet none of them cost nearly that much to maintain.
That is not dead which can eternal lie. And with strange aeons even death may die.
He was supporting 2 ERP guilds on the Moonguard server from World of Warcraft purely for the race and gender changes.
The game is entering Alpha 1 in a week if I am not mistaken, if we are being realistic Ashes will at best come out in 2023 but most prob. 2024. There are bound to be issues, far worse than a bit of frame rate dropping at this stage.
Also, I am curious how you spent 1000 USD per year. If you are facing financial challenges consider asking for donations in your guild. Nothing wrong with that in my opinion, it's how we used to fund TS and the guild website for lotro in 2008.
I have provided feedback and paid for alpha 1 pack but at this point this game is out of all our hands. It's completely funded so paying for the Kickstarter or buying a pack doesn't provide any necessary support. Nor does providing feedback as it is almost completely up to Steven as to what the game will be like. I am also not really sure how this is relevant to my question.
I don't know the level or extend to the organization your guilds require but that sucks that you have to pay for an IT techy usually the guilds I am operate on a volunteer basis and they don't need to pay for that kind of service. The domains and boosting cost money but usually it is a shared cost.
