I'll Crusade against anyone who bots, buys gold, or cheats in yet undiscovered ways. Nagash can have their dead corpses for whatever use He wishes.

The dead do not squabble as this land’s rulers do. The dead have no desires, petty jealousies or ambitions. A world of the dead is a world at peace
  • I really like the idea and would be really interested in a system like that.

Let's say crusades are a thing in game, should the crusaders, or the crusadees (??) have any lower death consequences ?

I think, if these crusades were to be issues against races for example, the bonuses should be smaller or bigger based on whether there's less or more of them. ie rewards and bonuses gained would be bigger from bigger race population?

Damn, weird discussing rewards for mass genocide lmfao

Welcome to the forums where death and distraction are as common as DPS meter threads

Well now we just need a God... or Goddess of Death added to the pantheon, and we gucci

    I am already here!
Most people never listen. They are just waiting on you to quit making noise so they can.

I think that rival religions should have pvp objectives to take down each other, give some motivation for divine nodes to go to war and have those crusades.

Sounds like the Seven are more like a pantheon.

That said, Athens and Sparta went to war frequently.

The divine aspect is just a little more motivation. Just about any excuse could be made for war.

BINGO and what better reason for war than "I don't like them and their god"

I mean while a lot of the IRL crusades were about faith, it was also about protecting pilgrims who got attacked and also all of the land and real estate they had in the Crusader States.

So perhaps some benefit in terms of plot of lands for freeholds?

    Crusade = Node war

Assuming destruction and total conquest of the node, new leadership could be emplaced and those wishing to claim lands would need to become new citizens.

    Some things that don’t align.

As far as I know node surrender may not be possible (don’t know). Example, the citizens of the besieged node elect new leadership. However that may not change things over to a divine node of the applicable deity. You probably need to take the node down first, then spend time building it back up.

We also know you can be a citizen of one and only one node. In fact all of your character are citizens of the same node, if they are citizens. Based on that it would seem only converts and true believers would acquire citizenship to the conquered node. But that may also mean better housing depending on how far down the node is taken before conquest.

I think you also only get one freehold.

Either way, you might need a few major nodes on the crusader side to have the surplus characters needed to move into the conquered node and rebuild it in the Deity’s image as a divine node.

Issuing crusades as a in game mechanic might be too much of a of political correctness issue these days , might be something that players will have to do in a role-play sort of way.
