I would like this to be a viable strategy but poachers should have a chance to drop gear. That way there’s a significant reason for not just node citizens to counter the Zerg/raid.
This would be acceptable if - and ONLY if - that specific state only remained while in that nodes ZoI. As soon as you cross to another node, that state dropped.

Also, in my idea about this, when a node is under such policy the this is for everybody.

There should have no discrimination against neutrals or citizen of other nodes or any other kind of people.

If such policy is on, it's because there's enviromental concerns.

Otherwise, just like George said, if people can tweak this too much then mayors will just use aginst non-citizens and this could discourage people from travelling.

We want people travelling and gathering, so such prohibitive policies should be used when the situation is serious and the policy should be for everybody.

Then if someone harvest something that is forbidden then the player will have a few minutes of purple.

@Arya_Yeshe Super interested to so where this whole thing lands as far as pvp flagging and resource management there is another thread going on this same topic. It's a juicy one....
The idea of Mayors getting involved voting on what can and can be harvested with in a node... We are talking real politics now! LOTS OF MURDERING will be involved!!!
I cannot wait to see this savagery unfold. Whole nodes going to War because Carebear Betty picked the wrong damn flower on the wrong damn day gets murdered calls for help and the wolves get unleashed. This game has such EPIC potential.

Yes, the other thread is almost the same, my thread is more friendly because there would be no penalties for stealing resources, just raw pvp

I don't like automatic systems damaging your standings, or status or anything like that

By me, people should just play and embrace what comes towards them, while having no automatic punishments

  • @Arya_Yeshe Totally agree on the nonautomatic systems. If anything, the more your break the law the longer your flagged timer. This could even be potentially worked into the Bounty hunter system... Not corruption but maybe something like Player X has now harvested over Y number of illegal materials and is now posted as a kill bounty within that local node's bounty hunter board. Player X still flagged only as purple and 0 debuffs from corruption. But now has a Gold bounty on their head in that area.

I say 5 minutes of purple per harvest... also I bet pvpers will steal prohited stuff just to bait people into fights and set ambushes using cloaky alts or friends

I think when the nodes have deities and religion, the node could opt for worshiping a spirit nature and give offerings for such deity would activate a policy for corrupting people who harvest the prohibited stuff... Makes sense because the prohibited stuff will be the resources that are almost disapearing or going extinct.... then such deity maybe could give a pinch of corruption for harvesters in that node... MAYBE... idk what people's opinion about it yet
