Bounty Hunter sends corrupted to the gibbets

I will throw a bunch player driven content ideas in the forum, here it goes:

When a bounty hunter defeats a corrupted, he could have the option of sending the corrupted to the gibbets, let's use the cage one.

Mayor can build gibbets in the node.
  • if there's a gibbet free then the Bounty Hunter has the option of sending the corrupted to the gibbets
  • corrupted stays in the cage for 15 minutes
  • cage door opens after 15 minutes
  • corrupted is free and has a 1 hour timer that prevents sending him back to the gibbet
  • if he dies, he dies, he will spawn at the regular random location

This is for spicing up the Bounty Hunting and show the corrupted ones brought to justice.
PvE means: A handful of coins and a bag of boredom.

Cool idea, but even then I think forcing players to sit 15 minutes is not the appropriate punishment for griefing and getting corruption. Yes, they should suffer consequences if they got corruption, but at some point in time 90% of the players in Ashes will do something and get corruption. And at that moment, ask yourself if you would like a system where another player, if they beat you, could force you to do nothing for 15 minutes but stare at the screen.

    yes/no

dont think it should be applied to bounty hunter.

I do love a jail cell concept, but this is mostly for bad behavior and like Archeage - theft in freeholds or illegal farming.

mass report - instead of causing ban, can cause a jail trip which trigger a juror session immediately ala Archeage. Server community can decide if this mass report is legit or is a guild trying to abuse/bully an individual.

example - New World, declaration of war, war begins at 8pm and the opposing guild decided to mass report their enemy guild leader to prevent them from fixing the roster before the fight happen. We can prevent this issue from happening - server community vote to sus the situation out, then server can retaliate against abuser and put them in jail!

I was a ganker in pretty much all games I played

What makes the victims mad is not the kill in itself, but being disrupted and having their time wasted
The gatheres prepared themselves and travelled to the woods and spend even more than 15 minutes in their gathering

Making the ganker lose 15 minutes is chump change, in EVE onllne a ganker has to sit 15 minutes per gank... so if you gank 10 people in a day you gotta sit for 2 hours and a half

In ashes the ganker could kill many people and when caught he will sit for 15 minutes only, that's nothing compared the amount of time he stole from the gatheres

Trust me, as I ganker I can tell you off the bat that people get way more mad because you destroyed their time invested in that activity then because a little bit of ore in their bag

I think forcing the ganker to waste his own time is an eye for an eye

The public humiliation is a big joke and when the corrupted get out of the cage he could be lynched by the carebears in an easy fight

Since the bounty hunter will be hunting corrupted anyway, it makes sense to me giving him such option, because the BH is on it already

Also it's fair, because the corupted can defend himself from BHs in even terms, since corrupted suffers no debuffs applied by the corruption, so it's a fair fight

The corrupted guy destroyed maybe hours of invested time by all the gatheres he killed, it just makes sense making him sit for 15 minutes for public humiliation followed by being lynched by an angry mob of carebears around the cage when it opens

In EVE online we got to sit in the dock for 15 minutes after every gank and gankers are chill with it, no gankers care

In EVE during those 15 minutes all the miners, haulers, people doing PvE feel safe since the ganker can not undock while he is in the 15 minutes Criminal Timer. This is an actual thing, ask anyone

  • Sounds good to me. But I think many people will not like it. Maybe reduce the time to 10 minutes.

Reducing to 10 minutes is fine
