I can't help but laugh. Every invation I give to talk about the game. Is responded by anything but discussions about the game. I laugh because he is baffled about giving opinions about a game on a forum that's designed just for that. IS keeps inviting us to do so.
He keeps trying to engage me with replies that have nothing to do with the game. If he has no opinion about the game, I suggest he stops replying to me. I'm not here to make friends or enemies. I come here just to make sure the things I care about in this game. My voice gets to be heard. IS can decide what to do with that. My money is here to be won or lost.
EDIT: And now this reply is also QFT =-D
Subtext says enough.
We have heard nothing about the Bard or a timeline for that class. My guess is we wont see it for a while. I am right there with you, as Bard is my fav class to play when MMO's have them. Its in part, why I backed this game.
I never said others cant have and share opinions, I said I dont have any at this stage and I am baffled by those that do.
There is a difference there.
See the issue here is you have concerns about a incomplete content and you have people here saying it isn't viable so it wont work or be useful so no one will be playing it.
This is like watching someone make a apple pie, and they are working on the crust first. And you start yelling this apple pie is going to be garbage no one will like it there are no apples in it. And the person hasn't even got to all the other steps to make it.
Its a argument that makes 0 sense, you have having concerns that exceed the current desire of feed back they are looking for.
They ask certain question for the feed back, there are some skills you can see and have some thoughts on it but again it shouldn't be expected to be a deep dive. If you are comparing other COMPLETE GAMES and using that for your comparisons for ashes of creation which is a game in DEVELOPMENT. That is the issue. You have to be understanding there is a lot you don't know about the game at the moment.
So give feedback on what they are asking for, not feedback on things you think are missing or balancing issues. If this was in alpha 2 where it was playable for everyone (which you still need to realize it won't be the full kit being lvl 35) or they gave a full deep dive on the class and what it can do, that would be a different story.
In your illustration, as someone who lives with a baker, it would be seeing the pastry work being done and know the lamination will be a problem. Crust maybe ok or it could suck, the pie filling maybe wonderful but a little change and the crust (the process at the start) can be as big a star of the show as the filling.
If you have no desire to give feedback. I suggest you dont derail ones who wish to do so. IS again, keeps inviting people in their stream, posts and replies to keep the feedback coming. So I will take the word of the professionals here and the ones who have claim to the game, to know what they mean by that and decide what feedback they want to follow.
I have been reading these forums from the start, following all the streams but I held off on saying much here due to the nature of the needless arguments that go on here. Some often think there post count means they know better, or that it gives them the right to knock feedback given. That is not the case.
If you want to talk about the game, suggestion, or any topic around that. Feel free to engage me. You want to talk about judging me or anyone else for giving feedback. Or personal opinions about what I should do concerning my feedback. Well, you can go tell someone else they dont have the right to give feedback because you think its too soon. Unless I see "Staff" or "Moderator" in your title and I dont see that. Why do you feel its ok to try and sensor what I say about the game by trying to tell me what I say is not worth saying because of timing? Should not IS being say that?

people see you value both feedback and ideas.”

You are missing the entire point lmao and twisting the example i gave you to help you understand. It would be fresh air if you were giving feedback on the certain things they asked or the basics you have issues with. Trying to make a argument there isn't enough of this when clearly there isn't enough of anything because you aren't seeing the full kit with itemization, builds, or how other classes work together and against each other.
Going back to your previous comment
You say you take the word of professionals yet your view point is assuming it won't work before understanding how the game works? That seems pretty contradictory.
No one here is saying you can't give feedback and you can't say ideas you think would add to it in a positive way.
This is my main point I'm talking to you about saying things won't work while knowing you aren't seeing the full kit of what the class can do... You aren't using your experience of gaming to see anything, you are just making a terrible take, and get a response equal to that.
As someone who has made more pies than anyone else on the forums, in your illustration it is more like someone saying that the way the pastry being made will cause problems when laminating said pastry, but without even knowing if that pastry is intended to be laminated or not.
If you are laminating the bottom crust of a pie, you are doing it wrong. If someone comes in and says the pastry you are making is never going to laminate, but it is that bottom crust you are making, then the person making those comments is someone with just enough information to be dangerously wrong.
People complaining about how things are looking in game now are making assumptions as to what Intrepid is doing. Assumptions they have no basis for, and no reason at all to make.
My take here is that they will make the other classes first, then look at bard and summoner.
I wouldnt be surprised if se dont see them in alpha 2, honestly. My thoughts are they will make the first 6 classes, and use these last two to fill in any gaps that players find after reasonable testing.
An example of this may well be healing. It may be that healers are unable to keep a group up in group or raid content, but the amount of healing they have already makes them OP in solo PvP.
One possible solution to that could be to give bards a buff that decreases cast time and cooldown of all friendly spells on a target group member.
It's just a basic example, but that is the sort of thing I expect.
steven has said that there are multiple ways to build a class. the same class can be built as a glass cannon or not. remember you will have the ability to modify your stats.
