Aye - as Steven Sharif had pointed out in an early dev video: If you don't include a system in a game? The players will emulate it; @Sweatycup is absolutely right, in that this would equate to players multi-boxing. I would, under such restrictions. Also, what about disconnects?
As to the OP?
1) Since resources are harvested by a single toon, there is no benefit in having other toons parked in the *same* place, to harvest later respawns; Your single toon can harvest the resource, no alts needed. You'd be better-served by parking alts all over the CONTINENT, and alts-hopping to see what spawns are active, in each locale.
2) You'd have to know *EXACTLY* where PvP is going to happen, in order to know where to park your toons. YES: *if* you know the route a Caravan will take, then you could hypothetically park your various toons at different places, down that path. Even then, you're still guessing at the progress something like a Caravan will have made by the time they reach your parked alts, AND you don't know how far along the route your initial toon will be, before dying.
Yours truly doesn't find it likely that you'll be able to accurately predict where most owPvP will occur....
I look having alts to learn how each class is played so I know how to properly play with other players of each class due to having an understanding of the abilities and roles of each class.
Altoholics are a type of long term player. They will stay with the game longer than most.
"Hey guys, we need a Healer for this dungeon"
"Yeah, I've got a Healer. Give me 15mins to re-log to my Healer......"
FFS
I think the fast travel limitation is enough to prevent relog with other char and tbh I will log out my other char in my farming area to relog if necessary. I hope I can keep that right.
Who's in with me? We'll have 10,000 toons and 10 members.
