While I understand the risk vs. reward sentiment, the Mage feels like it needs at least one DCD. The entirety of it's defensive toolkit consisting of a mid range teleport and a bubble that only protects from Magic based attacks is simply insufficient. It's will be entirely too squishy and it needs at least one DCD to have some kind of defense.
