Preliminary Alpha 2 Mage Feedback

I know that Alpha 2 hasn't even begun yet, but after looking at the abilities of the Mage, I have some initial feedback I'd like to provide and get opinions on, this will be general feedback on the Mage archetype.

There are simply too many Mage abilities and status effects. It feels like they've created a meta build, which will be Lightning/Frost, then added Fire and Earth in just to give the illusion of choice. While this is jumping the gun in terms of timeline, I don't believe Earth or Fire will be utilized nearly to the degree that Lightning or Frost will.

While I understand the risk vs. reward sentiment, the Mage feels like it needs at least one DCD. The entirety of it's defensive toolkit consisting of a mid range teleport and a bubble that only protects from Magic based attacks is simply insufficient. It's will be entirely too squishy and it needs at least one DCD to have some kind of defense.

Can you elaborate on what makes you feel this way?

I have a hard time seing how you got there. We really have not gotten a lot of info, we scratched the surface. Earth and fire might have been developed a bit later than lightning, but thats just the cycle of how they develop. Why do you think one build is strong then the ohter?

I think the frost/lightning skills were just more complete at the time of the showcase. I'm sure we will see more demonstration / information on the rest later.
