Why Does the Mage Have the Fewest Skills?

    I’d imagine the work associated with Mage skills are tied even more to effects and animations plus the associated power level and relative game design considerations they have to work out. So fewer options at this state would be reasonable. Plus they did say the three archetypes (tank, cleric and mage) have another update coming. But sounds like Alpha 2 Phase 3 maybe.

    I'm hoping they expand mage with more utility spells. We have been told that an antistealth 'arcane eye' spell would exist but obviously with no rogue yet to counter its not in the game yet. A few other similar spells are going to be needed in my opinion for the Mage to feel like a well rounded archetype that literay and table-top 'wizard' fantasy, they are more then just magical machineguns.

    I also personally want to see a slower moving, slower casting more heavy hitting style of mage as the default. The 'run and gun' style of mage they have now is what a Mage/Ranger should be, while a Mage/Mage goes full Megamin dropping nukes with fully rooted casting and long cooldowns. That covers the whole spectrum of mage play styles.

    Megamin 😂 EXPLOSION!
    Am not a Anime guy but that one was funny as hell.

    I dont like to be rooted ever it feels so bad.

    That's fine, just pick a different class of mage which suits you more, but I am sure their will be mages players that ARE eager to give up mobility for raw damage.

    So is Mage the rock, the paper, or the scissors?

    Paper, Healer is Scissor and Tank is Rock i guess. 😅

    Its never been glass Canon is always been paper Canon 😄

    It's obvious;
    Rock - Tank
    Scissors - Rogue
    Paper - Mage

    It works both practically and metaphorically.

    Paper (Books) Mage tears bypasses Tank's armour.
    Scissors (Daggers) Rogue rips up Mage
    Rock (Armour) Tank resists rogue's daggers.
