List of Mage class bugs
Most of these bugs were found during duels/PvP.
General:

General:
- Abilities are not being rendered visually when they're cast at max range, for both the caster and the person they're being cast on (e.g., Hoarfrost is a big example here). You cannot see visually if an enemy placed Hoarfrost under you aside from the debuffs/damage taken.
- Players become immune to enemy AoE effects randomly. For example, casting the Mage's Hoarfrost ability into Cone of Cold applies zero damage to the enemy player and does not apply any debuffs/freezes/disabling effects. The only way to resolve this is to get the enemy player to log out and log back into the game. This is a major bug as the enemy benefits from not relogging. (Reproduction steps: https://forums.ashesofcreation.com/discussion/64128/unable-to-hit-players-with-melee-auto-attacks-or-aoe-abilities)
- Desync occurs frequently during PvP. For example, dodging/rolling on one player's screen might not appear as a dodge on the other player's screen. Testing with recorded PoVs shows that player positions sometimes do not sync correctly.
- Occasionally, abilities do not apply their elemental power (e.g., after casting Hoarfrost, chill does not apply; instead, it defaults to arcane). This issue happens inconsistently.
Blink:
- The base ability is defined as "Instantly teleport 20 meters in the direction you are moving. Breaks all rooting effects." However this does not work e.g. rooting effects like the Ranger's Vine Field cannot be blinked out of currently.
- The "Unyielding Blink" talent is defined as "Blink breaks ALL disabling effects on the caster." Currently, it only removes effects like chill but does not clear disabling effects such as Slumber or Marionette. Other classes with similar abilities (e.g., Ranger's "Unyielding Call of the Wind" or Bard's "Misdirection") successfully clear these effects, so Mage's Blink should function similarly.
Prismatic Beam:
- The damage dealt by this ability is inconsistent. Sometimes it works; other times, it does not. This issue seems related to the elevation of the caster and the target. On flat ground where both players are on the same elevation, it works most of the time.
Chain Lightning:
- The Aftershock passive is not activating consistently. For example, after casting Firebolt with the Bombardment passive active (which applies stagger) and then casting Chain Lightning with the Aftershock passive (which causes the attack to trigger twice), the damage is not being doubled as expected.
