Steam Remote Play on Steam Deck
scout-
Pretty much what the title states. I would like to be able to get ashes working as a non-steam game. I can get it to the point where it gives me error 406, but not farther than that.
Additionally, I can add the launcher to steam and run it that way and see the game, but not really able to do anything since technically its running the launcher and not the actual game client. Please someone smarter than me assist.
I do not want to run the game off the steam deck hardware itself because I have tried that and got the game to load, but it would crash after selecting my character. The steam deck hardware is also just not enough to run.
Thanks!

They haven't licensed it to Steam, and from all past communications have no plans to do so. If you can't get it to run, you can't get it to run. Messing with their files to try and get an unintended result "Cause I wanna, they can't tell me I can't!" will probably end up with you posting to Reddit "Why was my account unfairly taken away when all I did was change a few things!"

I understand your reasoning, but would like to state that in no way am I actually altering the game in any way or its launcher, just trying to get it to run through steam as a non-steam game. There have already been forums about getting the game to run on Linux, so are they breaking TOS? I would say no because again, they are not altering any files. Simply saying "oh if you can't get it to run, you can't" is kind of ridiculous. You still run the anti cheat as well, I just want to run it portably while somewhere in my house.
So I state again, has anyone had any luck getting remote play to work on the steam deck?

As of last weekend no.

I was able to get farther than that user, I have already read their post as well. I appreciate the response and it is most certainly possible.
