I clicked 1 of the 2 restored treasure maps, it dissapeared. No text or anything and no destination on the worldmap either. clicking the other treasure map doesn't do anything.

The idea of testing freeholds with literally ZERO information on how to acquire them is absolutely not acceptable.

That said, by the time I realized you have to FIND them randomly, then GO TO THE WELL, and select 'PURCHASE', only to realize that by this time, all Freeholds have been purchased..... not a good experience at all

Freeholds should not be 1st come 1st serve. What happened to the big quest we're supposed to do for the deed? What happened to the estate auctions? Please tell me this is for testing purposes only and it will not be like this come phase 2. What happened to Steven's statement of a freehold is supposed to be a HUGE achievement to complete? Right now all you need to do to get one is hit level 20, have 100G, and have a node at village or higher. I'm highly disappointed in the method of obtaining a freehold right now. It should not be this easy.

I assume that not being able to see your own shop in the list is intended?

Not being able to search for a material or specific resource is ceratinly an issue. Players will essentially need to review all the storefronts to find what they are lookin to buy.

I experienced an odd behavior with purchasing. I was able to click on common Granite bar to purchase with no issue; however, on the uncommon I had to specifically click on the icon to purchase it. Same with removing it from the purchase list. Same behavior with Ruby.

Actually this behavior of where you need to click to add an item to your purchase list is different depending on what is listed. I found that carcass and animal mounts also required selecting the icon. Most resources you can just select the bar, but then others require you to click on the icon itself.

Honestly after yesterday's experience with Joeva I dont even feel like logging in, acquiring a horse, riding all the way to Joeva only to crash multiple times and be unable to do anything because of the lag. I got t to Joeva yesterday after playing for a few hours, could barely get some gear and then my client crashed before I could do anything with it and then had a half an hour + wait to log back in which I eventually canceled. I never even made it out of town. I have a high end PC and a 300Mb/s fiber optic internet connection. All this sounds way to complicated to me and I just want to kill mobs and level. Pass.

the usability was intuitive since its similar to other ui interactions. i could open a stall to sell something and i bought something. both worked fine.
i missed a search function the the specific stores to filter what im looking for. that would be good and needed for the future.
the searchbar for specific player stalls is really helpful.
i also liked that they all in one place for each nodes stalls.
i could see listing for only 20 items being too small in the future.

    thx for all your effort

Went to a location for a treasure...
    Got 100/100 Excavatio Kit...
dont know how to use it :disappointed:

I agree with a couple of the above. Not a lot of clarity on Freeholds, I guess only those on the PTR really would know how this functioned and the post that had the seed comment at the herbalism vendor is a red herring and caused confusion.

There really should just be a temporary vendor in Lionhold that can provide the mount and gear if we are going to boost.

The assets for a single vendor can be added with his own asset table and all those assets can be set at 0 value.

Listing things were easy but this mechanic needs work. There has to be a filter applied so that one can search for an item several actually so you can also search for rarity.

I received mail in my mailbox but I could not claim any of the money from the items that sold.

Went to the new dungeon the GMs were there no way to do anything with the current gear options available.

I did use Epic Melody and Harmony shortly inside the dungeon and I was able to skip to the bottom and slip through some rocks to get to some further along content.

At level 25 it is extremely difficult to get a consistent supply of droppings, so even with a freehold, could not craft the rootballs to test that part of the content. Please add another way to get droppings/have them be a byproduct of the animal husbandry or animal farming. <3

So I right clicked on the map and nothing happened, no location on my map or anything? is it bugged?

There are all kinds of lvl 17-20 Grem that drop a lot of droppings as they are within the level range for lvl 25. North part of Winstead.

With regards to the Befallen forge, it looks Good, the mob density is okay, I definitely felt it was hard to get a decent grasp of testing it with a raid of randoms who are at risk of pulling everything, but other than that it felt solid.

Side note : please make fighter more viable for these dungeons, . It needs to be able to take more damage and dish it out more. Right now it just feels like a Mage without any magic holding a sword. And there's no good mana management early on, most classes have a capability to solo mobs without too much hindrance, but fighters spend more time sitting and chomping food than anything else.

I've found that a lot of the trash mobs respawn a bit too quickly from testing today. While we are mostly in Iron Gear, even downstairs by The Untended Flame it seems like we get through a mob or two and the entire room is reset. Maybe we just need better gear but there are about 40 of us and its still not really doable. We have not been able to complete any of the bosses so far.

Also, the Aelan Journeyman seem to shoot too much poison in tandem with ground hazards. We could work on our positioning but a lot of the effects get lost in the clutter. Overall though its a lot of fun, I just think some of the mobs either need longer respawn times so we can actually clear the rooms.

Im playing Tank and trying to coordinate and lead people today in testing.

Planting crops on freeholds doesn't seem to rotate them to match the placement, also a timer on the item or the placed crop to show grow time would be very helpful.

The limited supply of freeholds combined with a lvl 20 requirement will be a problem for some, especially when a lot of the farmer types may be the slower levellers.
  • I really like the environmental hazards like the vents. Gives it a more interesting approach to raids since you have more to be careful of.
Not a big fan of any drop rate anywhere including this dungeon. I saw 1 piece of armor drop the whole time I was there with over 25 people, even as party loot.

as in the whole game currently, buffs and debuffs are hard to see on the ground. they overlap each other and get invisible by that. also i cant see if a AoE is friendly or not.
that makes the dungeon pretty messy. we have no gear, no communication plus those abundance of effects that get spread and do dmg/antiheal ontop of the areas where you take constant dmg due to heat/fire.
id say the dungeon maybe has a little too much area denial. but thats hard to tell if you cant see whats below you anyways. also there was occasions of flashbangs. not during dusk or dawn. dont know what it caused.
    base design seems interesting though

ps. i think the puzzle bridge is up too short after solving the puzzle. if i even understood that part correctly

got 2 maps and some excavation kits from GM. Used 1 map, other one didn't do anything (just sat in the inventory unable to use). Had 7 circles for location on the map, went to it. Wasted 1 whole hour running around trying to figure out what to find, or how to use the kits. Didn't find anything. Logged off for dinner...

I was very excited for the maps. Had found a few during the previous alpha and that was lots of fun to figure out... even if they were buggy. These "go to the zones on the map and run around" maps? don't like.

    Treasure maps:
Was given "Novice Restored Treasure Map" and excavation kits. I used the map and it created 3 overlapping search zones on my map and a quest to "Seek the Curious Cache" after an extensive period searching the zones and trying to use kits as I walk around them, I have found nothing.

Also, a general suggestion, there should be a button to center the map on a journal item rather than having to zoom in until they appear on the map then scroll around until you find it.

I spent most of my time playing around with Caravans and trying to get it stuck in places while still reaching my destination. I did try the Market Place Manager before doing so though. I found that when I was trying to list a item initially I thought that the process was bugged because I didn't notice the white outline around what I had selected to be listed. Something that stands out more may be better for being able to tell whats selected. I listed two items one of which I had bought from someone else. Both items where also bought and gold was delivered to me.

    Marketplace:
Selling items was intuitive and quite straightforward. When my items got sold, I received an email which I was able to pick up in Lionhold; I received all gold and silver as expected.
The limit of 20 items did not feel like enough, but I would expect this to work just like caravan crates - depending on the bags you own, the stack limit changes. If that is the case, I have no issues with the system whatsoever.

I didn't try to buy any items, as everything was priced at ridiculous levels, however, as others have mentioned, the search function should work for items listed rather than shop names.

    Treasure Hunting:
R-clicked an epic map, got 5 circles on the map. I don't know what the "dirt mound" is supposed to look like, but I had an idea. Even after over an hour of looking for it, I was unable to find the treasure chest. Possibly might be that my first experience is with an epic map, but so far.. not a fan. An introductory quest for these could probable ease the players into it.

It has potential, but so far I have more questions than answers.
What does the target "dirt mound" look like? How big is it? Can it be targeted using "Target closest friendly/enemy"? Can it spawn under water? Can it spawn on mountains? How about inside buildings, or underground (caves, etc.)?

As I received two maps, I decided to abandon this search and try my luck with the second map. I clicked abandon - the "quest" correctly disappeared. However, when I clicked the second map, it disappeared and I received no new quest.
Possible cause: I r-clicked the other map while the first one was active. It did nothing - I kept the map, no new quest, but it may have entered a bugged state.

I did not check out The Befallen Forge nor Freeholds.

I got the level boost but had not tried the Tank yet, so I figured I would give it a go before doing The Forge. However, I noticed a few things.

    Dwarf / Dunir:
Shields would not properly load and would be invisible as it looked like my character had a broken arm.

    Tank Class:
I appreciate the Tank with the various slams and defensive mechanics. However, the auras are a little lack luster. Would like to see perhaps magic resistance aura over magic damage aura and maybe some nodes that increase the range of those auras. A lot of party members have been spreading out during fights or camps. So many icons to click or activate as a tank but not anything that would sustain in a PVP war or fast paced PvE content.

    Saving place for more feedback

    Freehold Information:
    • Buying the freehold was very intuitive with the well interaction and just needing gold.
    • Creating the root ball was very easy to understand as well.
    • I can foresee some players having issues with obtaining seeds unless they have prior knowledge with the materials tab from the general vendor/agriculture vendor. This is the only part of the system I believe some may struggle with.

    Freehold Issue:
    • Planting the root ball. (Placement preview icon indicates red for most of the area)
    • After finally getting the icon to preview as blue (placeable) then I could move it to anywhere.

My assumption is that there may be some type of timer of having the preview icon there before it becomes placeable.

    Hello
    So i bought a freehold.
Because i knew where to buy them from, because of the test a few days ago i was able to get one fast enough.
As of this patch it is very unintuative that you have to "talk" to the well to get the freehold but thats okay in my opinion.
But after that you are left alone.
No tutorial, no NPC Dialoge, no Wiki-guide and no information anywhere
By happenstance i got recommended to try the farming vendor and see if i could see what the "root balls" in the Anouncement were meant to be. So i looked it up and farmed and traded for all the droppings to get one crafted and could place it in my freehold.
Now the Placement is fine, same problems as the caravan system has. you can rotate the plots with mousewheel but nowhere in the settings or interface a hint to do it. so not so nice imo.
ontop of that you can place 2 plots ontop of each other. in my experiance you can place 2 Flax Root Ball ontop of each other
another thing is, that i have no indication on how long it will take the flax to grow
no indication what rarity does, no indication of anything
ontop of that there is no Interface for the freeholds at all.
So for the Questing if Freeholds are intuitive i have to say, NOT AT ALL.

edit1: Some NPC enemies spawn inside freehold area
edit2: marketplace was intuitive but you couldn't search for items wich was stange

tl:dr Freeholds: No interface, No gidance. Not intuitive!
  • donotpanikdonotpanik Member, Alpha Two
Marketplace Manager is clunky. It does not allow you to search for items, which would be helpful. Instead, it will enable you to search the seller's description, which is not beneficial. It is fantastic that you can buy items that are not in bulk. If you needed one resource, you got one—scrolling and clicking each store to see what they are selling is not optimal.

    I bought a freehold.
Buying a freehold was easy enough, because the well is the only interactable and it's placed in an obvious spot in the middle of the freehold.

Getting the seeds to plant wasn't intuitive. Didn't even know I need to craft the rooting balls. Was expecting there to be something to interact with in the freehold itself.

Placing the rooting ball was intuitive had no problems placing them.
I could place multiple different seeds in one spot. blackberry, daffodil and snowdrops are overlapping each other.

There doesn't seem to be any indication for the rarity of the plants. Planted a common and rare western larch tree next to each other and they look the same.
Also no indication how long they still need to grow.
It would be good if you could interact with a already planted tree or crop and see it's status (rarity and time needed to grow)

11 droppings of the same quality for a single tree seems to be really expensive. Especially if you need to wait for multiple ours or even days for the seeds to grow up when they respawn every 30 minutes.

    Mobs on the freehold:
The were only a few wolfs and gryphons on the freehold I bought, so not much of a problem. But some freeholds have a lot of enemies, e.g. the one north of ursine caves has a lot of 1 and 2 star goblins that seems really anoying especially if you have some processing station in the freehold and need a whole group to access them without dying.

Edit1: The rotation of the root balls doesn't do anything. It didn't matter how i rotated them they always had the same direction.
  • ElthahElthah Member, Alpha One, Alpha Two, Early Alpha Two
so i could test the freehold today, to begin with i didnt even know where to start, no indications, no introductory quest not anything, by the time i found out all of them were sold out already because first come first serve, the worst thing ever in a game, something like the freehold according to stevens words are supposed to be a huge achievement, it shouldnt be limited to the few first to arrive at it, it should be something everyone has access to but at the same time something that has a lot of requirements making it that people really interested will invest into getting one while others wont, having the freeholds be a high time consuming, resource cost and expensive and hard to maintain should be the only reason to get or not get one, balancing this in a way that eventually the % of players to have one is the one your aiming at having one but not because they just got there first but because they invested a lot of effort into getting it.

    Marketplace Manager -
listing sales and buying seemed pretty fine, would definitley like a search/sort feature and notifications for when stuff i listed is sold.

Freeholds - every holdi checked was purchased, many did not show up on the map. was surprised that enemies were still spawning in within the plot and that i was able to interact with all gatherables on other peoples land.

    Freeholds
    - If it wasn't pointed out to craft root balls, I would've had a lot harder time to figure out what to get as I would've went for the seeds alone instead.
    - Placing the Root Ball seemed fine. It had some issues at the start not recognizing my plot of land, but once I moved my cursor out of the plot and back in, it worked out fine.
    - Spinning the crops felt really slow. It's nice to be precise but options to spin it faster would be appreciated
    - When placing, having some sort of Index to show keys, like rotation, would make placement of anything on the freehold more intuitive.
    - Adding a grid for better placement would be nice. This would make it easier to line things up
