Resonant weapon does not feel good, especially in mid to large scale pvp

From my experience, whenever the size of a fight exceeds around 6v6, resonant weapon becomes fairly useless. In small scale pvp blowing someone up with a menacing resonance proc is valid (and extremely unballanced), but when the fight becomes a bit bigger, theres other abilities you have to press first always, causing you to never really have a chance to proc it.
I think the most impactful bard spec in mid to large scale pvp is to play healing bard. Almost every time after say a 8v8 or an open world larger fight is over, i find myself with all my resonance stacks left because i simply did not have the time (or use) to proc them, as i had other better buttons to press.
I feel like i dont have alot of agency over this mechanic. You can never get the proc when you actually want it. Its nearly impossible to time it correctly other than the menacing proc, which again, shouldnt exist in the capacity that it does right now.
I think there should be a rework of this mechanic. I would love something where i can temporarity boost the effect of my active melody(s). Perhaps create a new bard base kit ability thats a spender of resonance stacks that when consumed, buffs the effect of your melodies?
Would love to hear other bards thoughts!

change resonance stacks to 12 max. Add a new ability that spends the resonance stacks, remove the need to auto attack to spend. The ability cast time and scaling is decided on how much stacks you want to spend at once, the longer you hold the more stacks (power) used. Allow this ability to be casted on individual PLAYER or enemies based on the melody you currently use, no more mana or healing auto targeting to lowest health ally. Add to where ticks of dances and songs (lullaby, hymn, serenade) provide a stack per tick. ad a new ability choice to gambit that swaps bards mana pool instead of health, thus if bard want's to keep a full mana pool they need to auto attack. balance the scaling accordingly.
I have unwavering trust in the Intrepid's ability to make the bard class nothing more than a mana battery
