Potential summoner playstyle

So I’ve decided I really want to play a character who is sort of an illusionist. I was assuming some sort of mirror image build for mages, but that doesn’t seem to be a thing. Then it hit me, maybe the summoner archetype would be the best option! In other words, I’d love the ability to swap places with my summons, or have my summons look like me. Generally I want to be able to outwit my threats by confusing them with my illusions.
Has anybody heard anything about the summoner that would give me hope in this playstyle?

    So something similar to the mesmer in Guild Wars 2?

    It's very unlikely they would change anything about the base archetype class at this stage. It is possible something like summoner + rogue class might offer this in the future, but Intrepid has been trying to lower the expectations for how playstyle changes those extended class skills are going to introduce.

    i agree with smilegurney.
    augments should give a form of this gameplay. the base archetype wont.

    really curious for the pet movement and action mode viability.
    cant wait to test it :)
