Tell me what your main goal is going to be in-game

• Take risks.
• My main goal is to found a powerful theocracy within the world and establish myself as its head, with a democratic body just below. Yep, I want to form a giant Church, take over a nation/region, and then turn it into a pacifistic arbiter for peace and prosperity. Temples! Temples everywhere.

Also, build up the guild that will support (but not dominate) the efforts of the nation and Church. Kind of like a Vanguard fully devoted to advancing the nation, but keeping the nation open to all players and guilds.
• Start my own group, turn it into a guild, establish connections with other guilds, network, build strong base for assisting others, get strong as fuck, leave the guild, assassinate other leaders, become the one they fear, sell all this as a pitch for a movie, call it Game of Ashes, profit.

What were we talking about?
• Hardcore PvE as well as delving into node development and PvP. Crafting I will leave to others as I haven't always been really big on crafting. Will most likely invest in exploring and frontline combat. Tank main :) Will also help new players in my spare time to acclimatize them to the game and generally help them in starting out.
• I used to be a PVE tank in TERA. About ashes... Well i am not sure but i guess i'll be looking forward to same thing too if dungeons will be good enough i'll make some kind of dungeon group that will clear all the dungeons daily and stuff.
• The idea of meaningful choices and not letting us cap out every skill makes the game both more exciting as well as frustrating at the same time! (In a good way).

I really haven't decided what I want to do. Part of me wants to roll a mage/summoner, claim a small plot of land in the woods to grow herbs for various alchemical concoctions, to aid my adventures. Another part of me wants to play a Dwarf Tank, go after the best and most epic armour and weaponry available and stare the dragon in the face as me and my group take it down.

It'll take a bit of playing around to see what I really want to do, but all in all I'm definitely looking to participate in a guild, and take advantage of the full potential of the game. I'm going to definitely be signing up with a guild focused on building on our castle, controlling resources and fighting other guilds. Bring on the 300vs300 player fights lol
• As for me I've always wanted to be "senior" player. That one who plays for a long time, knows everythink and everyone and helps to anyone who needs. I like being helpful so that would be my motivation. Join a guild and build it's honor so that we would be well-know. I don't know what class exactly should I be, as I love mages, but they're quite being at a disadvantage in most other games, but when it comes to professions, I'll decide after I find out how exactly each profession works and how is it useful.
• I would like to find a beautiful area with a node that I can claim as my characters "home town" and defend it till the bitter end!

Also, just have fun and explore everything this game will have to offer!
• What seems to bore the living daylights out of people about most MMORPGs is the fact that in-game content is repetitive. By your second day playing you know almost exactly what you have to do and how long it will take for you to "win" the game, or be the best according to your own standards. AoC developers seem to be addressing that issue with their AI system. From what I read in the blog, the players' actions trigger a chain of nearly random events in a way that is supposed to mimic real-world cause and effect. I think the goal of every player should be to first enjoy themselves, and second to push this system to its limit. How long before things start repeating themselves?

I expect the classes and their abilities in this game to be fine-tuned, and therefore different from what we've seen before. My approach would be to play whatever race/class seems most fun, and then use that character to play as hard as I could against the environment. If this game is everything it promises to be, whoever has control over the environment will have the advantage in PvP. PvP is predictable in every game, and I expect there will be mostly Military and Economic metropolises for players to wage war over. But when one Node is destroyed, will the building of the next Node just be a repeat of the last? Or is the AI sophisticated enough to continue the game as if it were real history, never again showing us forests we cut down or monsters we obliterated? That is what the developers promise, and I'm looking forward to seeing what becomes of AoC. If I can come in sometime down the road and destroy a metropolis from just a little plot of land, then turn that little plot of land into a new metropolis that unlocks never-before-seen game content, then I'll consider AoC a complete success.
• I mainly do PvP but I will start out by doing PvE quests and whatever else to really get a grasp on the combat system. I want to try and master my class as fast as possible.
• Well, seeing how I'm going in as an rp'er, it wholly depends on my planned characters Ruvaen and Eris (Last names pending, if needed at all) in this case (though I haven't got a clue which one I'd want to main with yet)

IC:
Ruvaen is a rather old elf returning to the world depicted in Ashes of Creation and simply wishes to see the world he was forced to leave behind restored. He may be ancient as hell, but despite that, or perhaps because of it, he's a simple man. He won't aim to do anything grand himself(although it may be pushed upon him, I'm still playing with the idea), but keep to 'simple' good deeds to help the world on it's way.

Eris is his apprentice and kind of ambivalent about this 'different world' stuff. Unlike Ruvaen, her connection to this world is limited to tales told by her ancestors. Nevertheless, her loyalty to her teacher, while not always clearly showing, is unwavering, and if he wants to do this, why not? Her 'noble' family, who she had already on rather bad standing with due to her bastard status and tomboyishness, outright abandoned her when she horifically scarred herself when her magic went out of control, and her fiancé broke off with her because of her. She had simply lost her value. Her teacher picked up the pieces left behind, and shaped it into something cohesive and she loves him for it.

OoC:
I'll probably begin as an explorer/pathfinder/pioneer. I probably won't be involved in merchanting/crafting for once, aside from caravan-guarding and the occasional gathering and the like, so mercenary is an option. I'm going to try and find out all the Lore I can when I finally get into the game, in order to help other players with it. (And write it off as Ruvaen still knowing this stuff)

Politics might come later, as I AM interested in it, but both will try to avoid it with a passion, despite not neccessarily being bad it due to their backgrounds. This is partly due to health restraints IRL. There will likely be long periods of times in which I will be inactive, so I can't get too involved. And this way I can write it off as them going on a mission/expedition/journey etc.

---

This is just initial stuff though, it might change once more information/lore/etc. becomes available.
• I'll be openly pking anybody who griefs or annoys new players, and people who are toxic and abusive to others.

Plus I want to build a house in a far off corner, spend my days crafting and farming, on days I get bored I'll go chec k on lowbies, and help them out with materials and such, pk griefers etc.. Protect my caravans all that jazz :D
• I will most likely be a Tank/Rogue or Rogue/Tank explorer, delving into the depths of dungeons who has a penchant for Alchemy/Poisons, who is going to be the group's item hunter/trap seeker/off-tank who can tank a few hits if need be before back off and letting the main tank do his/her job. Mainly because I like the idea of being able to stack DoT's while vanishing and not instantly blowing up in one hit if a mob or enemy pvper catches me off guard.

I aim to make a small little cave somewhere in a mountainous region if possible and farm herbs for alchemy.
• I would like to be a farmer and carpenter as balance to my professional life. But realistically I'm skeptical that this won't end like most of those limited-spot-because-no-phasing MMO's: only those with a lot of spare time to game can afford the farm holds. Which again causes this weird issue where those who have enough money from their real life but not much spare time left, have the least option to enjoy a game. And no, I'm not voting for whale-support, I dislike buying anything that is game changing or contested content.
I vote for phasing. Very much so.
• My top goal would be to tame a male and female of a beautiful rare mount.

Then I'd find myself a nice spot of land and build a farm there, in an advantageous location, maybe close to a well frequented tavern. I'd set to breeding rare mounts in the best possible quality, way better than can be found out in the wilderness and sell them to the travelers who are coming by my estate. That would be... awesome.
• I just want to enslave all people under my rule :)
• My main goal? Well make that two and not mine alone! I got a brother who i game with alot and we plan on seeing what will develop between big cities, and if theres a way to coin in on that!

I can only imagine meny will set their plots on those roads for max benefits of posible travelers if it means you can open up your plots for public use for tax or something like that.

We do know that none of these things arent acturally confirmed yet, but we like to believe that its where the game is headed! :)
• I want the only thing that matters in a mmo...... Good Fishing :)
• Rule the world with potatoes. Gonna make a free hold and plant plenty of potatoes and then... plant some more...(evil laugh) bwahahahahahaha
• Building and defending node/home, Crafter, explorer and bounty hunter.
• If the alchemy is amazing that is mostly what I will be doing! ????????
• Main goal is to have fun and stay alive while I explore. Breeding sounds like fun during quiet times. Hope we can interact with the critters we breed or use as pets. lol
Bounty hunter may draw me in if the wee boys don't behave themselves! I might have to contend to be a pocket healer and help the hunters though depending what course I take.
• Rule the world with potatoes. Gonna make a free hold and plant plenty of potatoes and then... plant some more...(evil laugh) bwahahahahahaha
Potatoes aren't evil!!?!

I'd prefer "root" beer! Or more realistically, dandelion wine. Heck pick 'em during your travels! Less work!
• FRIENDS! FOOD! ROLEPLAY!

• In alphas, ill be soaking up as much info as i can during progression, learning as many different aspects as possible before beta/full release.
During betas, and thereafter i'd like to lead a guild of my own where i can share my knowledge and help push others forward to achieve top rankings on the leaderboard, as well as create a name that is a precursor for the untimely demise of any would-be opposition.
:)

• Being King................ B)

• Main focus is to assist in building up a node. want to feel like I am invested in the game. PvP is secondary.
