  • Why would anyone wanna level fast in a beautyfull sofisticated world.. Relax, and enjoy yourself when the time comes.
  • In order to enjoy that  beautyfull sofisticated world you will need to have enough strength to go were you want and see what you want, if your level is not high enough at that time you have no choice but to ask for help or do what others tell you in order to get there.
  • Nothing has been said about how it will work but you want 1 persoon to gain as much xp hitting 1 mob as a 100 people hitting a 100 mobs?
Im geussing you also want wellfare legendaries that get send to your mail the moment you hit level cap so you dont have to grind dungeons in a group?

If you want to play solo thats your choise but putting a penalty on groups so you can play solo is not the way to go.

  • If playing solo had all the same benefits of playing in a group then there is a depletion of value in making groups and/or creating guilds and much of what the game sets out to do.

Sure solo content is necessary and joining a guild should not be compulsory, some overlap can exist but there should be difference on what can be achieved in a guild to solo and not share all the same benefits.

To make the same defeats the objective of being a multiplayer game.

  • Well, you don't have to group to reap the benefits of a guild.
Group bonus helps motivate strangers to adventure together.

It's irrational to expect a solo character to rival a group of characters of equal level.
  • I want to level just as fast as 1 person or 100..
I sincerely doubt this will ever happen. I hope Ashes encourages interaction and cooperation like no other MMO.

It appears the whole concept behind Ashes is cooperation and interaction. After all a one man army even if that one man is superman can't take down an entire freehold and node alone.  Steve has said Solo play will be viable but there will be times the solo person would want to join a group to experience as much as they can even if that "joining" is just tagging along.

One could choose the life of a hermit but eventually you would have to out in the open to reap the benefits of society if you want any part of it.
  • Totally agree @CylverRayne

  • I don't need to take down a citadel or anything like that as a 1 man army I just want to go on quest and dungeon raids alone so that I don;t have to follow instructions when tagging along with others just to enjoy the game.

    LEEROYYYY JENKINSSS

The nodes and community achievements are not something 1 person can do any way but wandering the map or exploring hidden areas I don't want others to get in the way or tell me how to do things.
  • Solo and raid are polar opposites - so, no, that would be absurd.

From what I understand you should be able to tag along solo in some things like defending a caravan or such.

As far as dungeons and raids?  Solo?  Maybe a low level dungeon when your an elite high level but a raid?  Nah unless again your a high level doing a lower level raid and the raid has been dumbed down as they do when games get old. lol

Also no one is going to stop you from doing a quest or exploring unless you run into a pker or wander into my garden and trample the flowers!

In MMO's I tend to have a character dedicated to solo play so I wanted some thoughts on how people think it will play out in Ashes.
    Class combination thoughts?
Should one person be able to destroy an army?
Summoners able to control and command massive hoards?
Where could solo play be strong? Where could it be week?
I have played many MMO's and from what I have seen the point of a MMO is the the first two words Massive and Multiplayer ... and even thou I'm sure the team will have an abundance of single player content. The main focus and your best play experience will  be with others inside ashes. just my 2cents.

Should one person be able to destroy an army?
I don't think one person should be able to destroy a army and I don't feel that will ever be the case.
Where could solo play be strong? Where could it be week?
I think solo play will be weak when trying to fight strong monsters and world events if you are alone. and it may be strong with farming and selling goods.

    Class combination thoughts?
Summoners able to control and command massive hoards?
the rest of your questions will have to wait to be answered as no one is even close to being in game.

  • That is what I mean by solo, how am I supposed to enjoy a dungeon if I have to worry about other players I would have more fun going alone.

Also the best loot is usually in the dungeons and I don't always want to share or split it with others mostly if they didn't do anything but block or heal once or twice but still get epic gear, also because im can use that loot to trade or get other loot.

Solo and Raids have only been opposite because games so far have tried to keep the balance by making every class cover positions however this time around I would really enjoy going alone and covering positions my self.

I feel like if I have enough skill to play my build well then forcing me to have a weakness in how far I can play alone really makes the game seem like 2 parts the start were I have fun and play however I feel like and the later were I need to party up to go further and stay safe.
