Chat Box Improvements

I know this is a very minor issue but I would like to suggest a couple of changes to the chat box functionality:

1) after manually selecting the chat type (guild, party global etc.) it would be really nice if you could just start typing instead of having to select the chat type and then hit enter or manually clicking in the text field with mouse before you can start typing. I hope that makes sense.

2) Also, if I change from global to party to guild chat windows, it would also be nice if it just automatically switched the chat type to that window's type.

If anyone else has any other suggestions to chat box improvements feel free to post them in this thread. It would be helpful for the devs if every suggestion related to the chat box were consolidated in a single thread rather than making a new one every time someone has a suggestion to make.

I'd like some of the common shorthand things like /g to talk in guild, /p for party, /t to tell etc
I'm sure they'll come in time though

Some of these already exist, for example /p for party, /s for say (area chat) and /g for guild but im not sure what the shortcuts are for the other channels like global and raid for example. I wouldn't be surprised if they all have shortcuts but some of them aren't as obvious.

It would be great as well to allow multi chat boxes I think.
Then, we could create for example, one for zone chat, xp info, system info, and another with "personal" chat as group, guild, whispers...
And for the whispers part, it's very rigid and painfull to use ATM... would be great to answer quickly, type /w for example instead of /whisper... these small things. And if I'm not wrong, you can't event answer quickly to a previous send

I know there's much more important things to improve before, but if we're not on vocals (discord), to me it's quite hard to stay in touch with other players ATM

I'm not sure if there is one, but a window that displayed all in one would be nice.
Logs and all chats. They would show in different colors, naturally.

Other than what has been mentioned above, for me these are the things I would like to see.
1. when I change chat tab settings, I wish they would save and not have to be redone each time I log.
2. in chat tab settings, I wish it would show all options, like experience from combat which i cannot get into any window but general even if i check all boxes in tab options
3. I would like to see the results of a trade in chat, i see what has been removed from my bags, but i dont get a notification of coins received during a trade.

I would like to see optional timestamps on messages. If I'm not actively looking at the chat, it's difficult to tell how long ago a message was sent.
