Some things Pantheon is doing

Level grap is nicely done. You can team with anyone 1.5 x your level + 1 lvl.

Level 1 can team with a lvl 2.5 char
Level 4 can team with a lvl 7 char

The current gap is not fun. Could even change it too 1.25 x your lvl +1. I find it hard to make teams and someone gets a lvl it often breaks up the group.

Also... The targetting system. You can have two targets. One for mobs and one for allies. So I can target a mob and another target window for a player. So you cast a heal it heals the friend, if you do damage spell, it attacks the mob. It's really simple and useful. Would help support allot. You could do target in target with this.

I could see this being an issue for Judgement where it depends on the target you have selected. This would need significant changes and I am only thinking of the one use case. However, I have always been a fan of target of target. Just not sure it would work with the current design on some spells.

Good old half your level +1, within 30 levels works well too.....

The dual targets in pantheon is awesome. Harder to do in Ashes because the nature of the PvP mechanics, but they could probably still do it.

I'm okay with the level gaps for both games as they are, but I'd like to have some type of warning or informational that lets me know the penalties or bonus I get because of the level spread or lack of. I don't see the point in making people figure that out through trial and error. Just something in game like a help popup if you have them enabled. Just a nice to have.

How would it break it? Would make it easier when you target someone that the end up in the target of friend or foe. Would help you see when not to attack. Forcing an attack would change what window they are in.

Having two targets is fairly common in tab target games. Sometimes it is as Pantheon has it, sometimes it is the target of your target - which is what EQ2 does.

The level gap is an interesting way of doing it. It would make leveling far easier with how easy Ashes PvE is in relation to Pantheon though.

Yeah, the social aspect of the MMOs always clashed for me with the common approach MMO leveling experience. People have life outside the game, they not always can play at the same time. A growing level gap between friends tends to split them up. I never liked this, it destroys the social MMO experience for close knit groups. Rather ironic.

There is or at least was in phase 1, a dual target option. I haven't played cleric since phase 1 so I don't have it turned on anymore.

Not really sure what you mean. But I didn't say break, just said harder.
