If they could fix the launcher button we'd have a less jank setup but in game works fine. See: https://forums.ashesofcreation.com/discussion/62094/linux-tips-tweaks-and-troubleshooting-thread/p1

From an outright business perspective, it does not make sense to support Linux. If Intrepid were planning on launching on Steam, they could use some of Valves resources to ease that issue - but they aren't. If Intrepid do eventually support Linux, they will regret it.
just wanted to pop in and say that today Thursday Dec 11th, I downloaded Ashes from Steam and was able to play just fine for 5 hours with absolutely no issues. Literally just a download and play. Ashes making the move to Steam seems to be great for Linux.
Confirmed! On Linux Mint, all that was required to launch via Steam was to use enable Experimental as the Proton layer.
For those Googling this: In your Steam library, right-click Ashes in your list,. Go to properties, compatibility, and toggle it on. Select Proton Experimental as the layer. Now you're all set to play, but the graphics may be a tad funky at times at least until it is fixed.
