Real gamers don't care much about graphics. The game looks fine as is, I'd play it even if it had star wars galaxy graphics.

I play on with max settings and high resolution on a 45" monitor and it looks gorgeous.

I want to feel wow. Now I feel blah and boring. After looking at this for a month it is just awful.

I keep seeing on these threads "real gamers don't care" or if you suggest an improvement "Its not the game for you." Or if you want to add to the game (not saying anything about reducing the PvP or systems) "Its PvP, its not for you.." This notion that adding to the game or suggesting improvements will hurt PvP is wacked. If suggestions to improve the game to get more players or player satisfaction are actually treated this way by Intrepid they will have failure. I hope Intrepid doesn't listen to these people saying adding things subtracts from PvP or wanting more should be ignored by Intrepid.

Graphics mostly come in the polish stage, wow will come. Right now they just trying to get all the systems in and working. Allot of the game is placeholders. Even the storms and rain are placeholders.

I suppose they could leave the graphics as is if they think Gen X will give them enough players to sustain the game?

Your right, gen X don't cry and wine nearly as much. Thanks for noticing. :D

I don't know what kind of superficial teens you're surrounded by, but where I grew up, young people still care about substance more than aesthetics. Weird flex there.

Not to mention this game looks gorgeous, you're just either getting overly distracted by a lack of minor short-range eye-candy that will still be improved as the performance gets optimised, or don't to understand that not every genre lends itself look like AAA single-player titles.

Not to mention the close-up renderings in the glamour trailers at 13:40 (which are admittedly not *super* relevant to bring up, but still. Just these first 2 timestamps are glorious already.)

I'm personally also a huge fan of the environments like this in live already. But if you need the closeup eye-candy, you'll need to wait for optimisation, so it'll look more true to the YouTube Dev presentation above.
The only one who can validate you for all the posts you didn't write is you.

game looks and feels nothing like the streams which sucks , ya its alpha but even when it wont be alpha anymore i doubt it will look anywhere near half as good as it was in the weather or freehold streams

I am a fan of AoC. But games like New World are way ahead in graphics over Ashes. I recently started playing New World on console. The world is beautiful and so lush. Ashes look very flat in this Alpha stage and very different from previous showcases.

I personally hope, that Ashes will also kinda implement "different Atmospheres/Skyboxes" a little bit, like in WoW. When i remember correctly, it was done a few Weeks ago kinda for the large Open World Instance of Carphin - and it looks great. ;) . :sunglasses:
