Melodies dropping from CC is too punishing

Currently, any incap, stun, trip, or knockback will cause a bard's melody to drop .In a game where CC is plentiful and a lot of pivotal spells are .5 seconds or less, being locked out of your class mechanic for 2 seconds constantly feels clunky.

I think recasting melodies should be about changing your buff and resonance- currently it feels overly punishing to have to recast your melody every time, especially with knockbacks and CC that lasts less than a second.

I have two suggestions that might help

1- Instead of the melody dropping, negate the effect of the aura while the bard is CC'd- groups wouldn't benefit from it when the bard is CC'd.

2- Melody only drops when the bard is stunned, tripped, or incapaciated for at least a few seconds, reducing frustration from "micro CC" and knockbacks.

    Yeah I think it was pulling me out of the 20 second counterpoint buff as well so its especially punishing for anyone trying to weave.

    It breaks Counterpoint, and that alone was the reason why I use the alternative. It also breaks bard's Resonance mechanics.

    Melody cast being interrupted by everything is one of my main frustrations as a bard player. Melodies should not be interrupted by anything, but death. Melody casting should be also FAR quicker, 2 seconds cast time is far too long in pvp.

    I do think it's intentional, bard is strong and having a specific weakness to CC is fair when they have the mobility and utility that they do, however I don't think small knockbacks and microstuns are an interesting weakness.

    If it is intentional and this specific implementation stays, I think adding a sound effect for when melodies are broken could be a way to make it feel less frustrating

    The interruption of melodies is what makes me want to change classes. It's not just giving away. It negates half the effort in mass pvp, and in solo pvp it turns the bard into a class that endlessly presses a melody.

    Melodies breaking on CC effect puts bard at a massive disadvantage vs rogues, which are already a magic class killers. Technically a rogue can shut down your melody every 5 seconds. Recasting a melody takes 2 seconds (if not dazed), that means you have 3 seconds to attempt hitting your combo finisher. Thump with Advantage allows you to also Silence for 4 or 5 seconds....and then there is DoubleStrike.

    I'm sorry Bucky, but this makes very little sense in small scale.

    melodies being removed on CC is a key weakness to the class- classes should have key weaknesses that they try to hide imo. this is part of what sucks about dueling a rogue- no obvious weakness

    Could not agree more. I actually just had a conversation last week about rerolling because of how often I have to recast my melody. Its also incredibly hard to know when its actually on (at times) because of the buff bar being limited to 10.

    This isn't a key weakness, it literally breaks the class.

    They nerfed the bard's mobility and dps. But they absolutely didn't care that in pvp with a rogue you have to turn on the melody 10 times over. "THANK YOU"

    It was fairly obvious to me how painful this is going to be when they initially added the snake mobs which apply stunning poison on auto-attacks. Terrible design.
