Ashes is the most hyped game on MMORPG.com because...

Hi,

Different things resonate with different people.  The reason that you think this game is going to be awesome may be different than the reason that someone else thinks.   I'd like to do a little experiment.

Write down either the top 3, top 5 or the top 10 reasons why you are excited for Ashes of Creation.  More specifically, answer the question: "Why does Ashes of Creation deserve to be the most hyped game on MMORPG.com ?"   Each bullet answer in your list should only be 1 sentence or less.  This is partly an exercise in how well you can express your idea without using superfluous words.

We'll compile a best of list after the thread grows.  :)

Look forward to your thoughts!

The first thing is that it reminds me of what EQNext had the possibility to be.

The second is that the developers are against pay to win.

The third is is the fact that we can face diversity in classes with the ability to add a second class to augment skills.

The final reason...I am desperate for a good MMO that can hold my attention for years. I want to be a one MMO guy. I hope this will be it!!!

I second every thing on this and add a hope that "Starting" areas really are diverse and changing and it doesn't bottleneck you too much into a generic noob experience. It seems like there may be a little of that but mostly open which I prefer.

The developers being adamant that there will be no p2w.
An open world for exploration that changes as players develop nodes.
Meaningful conflict with meaningful deterrence for griefing.
Game mechanics which encourage contributing to goals broader than simply advancing a character and which take into account more than just combat.
Interesting character development and skills which are affected by a myriad of choices and horizontal development.
Dwarves!  Any game that includes a Dwarven playable race is better for it.

    1. Focuses on both PvP & PvE and isn't just a niche game.
    2. Right design with in game abilities that are bound to create combat with depth & strategic plays (i.e. abilities that create collision walls, Mage levitation skill etc)
    3. Commitment to no P2W, and developers have actually proven this by making Kickstarter mounts etc skins only.
    4. Open world, not a theme park MMO.
    5. Good class variety.

    9. Last but not the only thing, seeing how the developers are gamers just like you and I, how they create the game as they would want it to be for gamers by gamers.  How games SHOULD be made.  Not just for corporate income, even though bottom line is to make money, but to keep customers happy, and prolong a life of a game, and revenue coming in, keep the customers playing... and happy! :D
