  • How will towns (Nodes once developed to a certain point) be named? Will it be chosen by he player(s), be pre-determined based on the lore or area, or something else?
  • Is there gonna be some sort of nudity? Sexual activity? Places where players can make paid love?
  • I understand not wanting fast travel based on the design of the game and the ever changing nodes. But how will you balance that with grouping with friends for a dungeon, etc. For example, if I log in and my friends invite me to group for a dungeon (for example), but I only have an hour to play and it would take 30 min to travel there, then it limits what I can do when I have limited playtime.

    How will you address that?

Personally, I like the approach of the original EQ before they added easy fast travel where the wizard had the ability to port to a few locations (self or others). It gave the ability to travel quickly when needed, but limited it so fast travel was only rarely used.

  • Will the player freeholds be destructible? If so, what methods will be used in order to stop others from simply wiping out your freehold if they wish.
  • Interested on the team working on AoC. Some of these games that they are from, I absolutely adore.

I wanted to ask a bit about the team and their backstories. As it appears we can only ask one question about any topic, just answer the (1) I guess. I'll still put my other questions regardless though. Since i'll forget them myself otherwise.

    (1) So the gamer who founded the team, settled on lesser mmos. How many mmos can you recall that you would consider lesser and what real parts about them made them lesser in your POV? Any mechanic issues or what?

    (2) (Multipart question) To the part of the team that worked on the X-Com series. What xcom games did you work on, was there a certain time era you worked on xcom games (E.g. 1995-2006), always have or recently introduced? In what areas of the xcom games did you work on? Was it stuff to do with modding, localization, languages, graphics, ideas, mechanics or what? What would you consider your favourite part about xcom and what about xcom strove you to passionately work on the game?

    (3) (Multipart question) To the guy who worked on CoD series. What would you consider your favourite CoD game and why? What CoD games did you work on? What organization were you apart of when working on the CoD series or were you not in an organization? What would you consider your favourite mechanic or idea ever released inside of a CoD game? When working on CoD games were there any organizations or individual people who cooped in creating the product? If so, who? What part of the fps and Moba side of CoD attracted you / strove you to work on CoD? Or was it something else entirely?

    (4) To the guy who worked on the PlanetSide series. When starting planet side what was the ideal in mind for what you wanted to create and were you happy with the final result of planet side?

Don't really have more to ask about the team then that. Would love if anyone else had any ideas or questions about the team I could add to that.
  • After the kickstarter ends, will we be able to back the game still in some other method while getting rewards for backing? As through time, dev blogs and whatnot will be released that will make people less skeptical and whatnot.
  • Question about weapons and weapon types and damages:

While in voice chat today and discussing a few topics, I brought up a question about weapon types and damages.

Will there be certain types of weapons that will do certain types of damage to certain types of armor?
example: hammer doing +crushing damage to plate armor, and sword doing +slashing damage to leather armor.
Maybe this will help us during battles and some smaller fights to have a weapon on hands to help better defeat our foe...Since from what I've read and heard, we can swap out our weapons to our liking. I think having these extra bonuses may be something that will add to the game.

Thank you if you are able to answer this, or possibly put this idea into the minds of the others. :)
  • Healers have taken a variety of forms in MMO's . From self sustained PVE and PVP'rs, to requiring a group to function, to recently not even being present or spreading the healing out to everyone. In your game will Cleric Primary Archetypes be able to solo PVE or PVP?
  • Will quests and storylines be voice acted?
  • You guys have slightly touched on "guild wars" and "alliances". I am a former player of a certain MMO that can be said to had created the genre (Ultima Online, omit the name if necessary as I know you guys try to avoid naming other games). Will your guild systems consist of a separate "alliance chat" from the "guild chat", and if you are "at war" with another guild can you attack them anywhere, anytime without accumulating corruption?

And if possible, a second question concerning the "fast travel" or lack there of. In the before mentioned MMO, magic users were able to teleport to areas they had previously been to and performed a ritual (marked a rune). They also could open gates that others could use to that location. Will something like that be an option for say, the mage class?
  • I don't know if Ashes will be rated or not, but in which category do you see Ashes? Will the game for example have some mature content; like blood, dismemberment, nudity, ect? Or will be more in line with suggestive themes and slight graphical forms of violence?
  • From the existing Archetype descriptions it would appear that you don't see every toon being able to fill every role. If that is that case do you see this as a holy trinity Tank, Healer, and DPS game? Is their a 4th or 5th role and if so what are they?
  • Just simply- When can we expect more detailed information about the stat specifics on the different races, and the breakdowns of what the Classes do and their potential. (Obviously we get what a Tank dose, and a Clerics role, but some have more mystery)
  • What is the speculated time table to move from alpha to beta to release between now and Dec 2018. Could you tell us where you'd like beta to be?

Will servers kick you off if you are not moving for a period of time like some MMOs or always keep you online? I prefer never get kicked!!!
  • I was just listening to the last stream (missed it last week) and found out. I came here to remove it since it would become a repetitive question.
  • My question would be: Can combat skills be used out of combat? For example: using the fighter dash for extra movement or a fire field on the ground behind enemies to create an obstacle instead of directly attacking them with it. (if this is already answered, plz link :P )

Or can you only use "attack" skills if an enemy is targeted? (like most tab targeting games).
  • How does loot drop work upon death? do you keep all your gear/items/money in your inventory or do you loose everything or loose only some items?
  • Do you guys already have a plan that guilds does really have a use? like that alltime out there are Bossmonster that are really strong that even with the high-end gear that you still need like 50+ People to kill it? A concern for me because none of the mmorpgs out there really fixed this problem and does make look a guild like useless because communication is not really needed.

    Thanks for the answer.
  • will we be able to get concept art of the underrealm race before hitting the target to get more people incentivized to back the project?
  • Thanks for the questions, everyone! As today's livestream is now over, I'll close this topic. Feel free to discuss the livestream through a new thread or via the official Discord server.
