New Stretch Goal Mac Client :D

So for the June crowd sourcing I would love to see one of the stretch goals be a mac client. I am patiently waiting for news about a mac client. I do not personally play on a mac but I have about 4 friends who do and who will not be playing on launch day and did not donate because they weren't positive they could play. Each launch day for different mmos eso/wow/lotro/gw2 etc we all get together and have a launch day party. I would love to see how the community feels about this. Do you want more players in this game? Do you have a story about having friends who have macs/do you have a mac? Lets hear the voices of the mac users out there and the PC users who have friends with macs.
The goal of this post is not to show Intrepid that the majority of the community wants a mac client. That would be silly to think so with so many PC gamers out there compared to Mac gamers. The intention is to show Intrepid that there is a community that wants this.

I would be happy for mac users to get to play this game but I don't want to see anymore stretch goals tbh. Intrepid Studios have enough to get to grips with and I they'll do brilliantly to deliver on what they've promised thus far.
I mean don't use macs for gaming anymore.
I know three people with Macs, none of them are gamers.
They did so focusing on the PC for launch first, which I understand and wouldn't expect to change. But the Mac release would be a sneeze away after that
But i'm not computer programmer, if the file needs to be different for Mac, then that seems like time better spend expanding the realm.
Maybe once the game is launched they can move over to a project like that but till then. just get it out.
Though if such a development ever happened, they would probably make it Linux compatible while they were at it.
I do use OSX as my primary operating system for pretty much all tasks except gaming. For gaming, I have a dedicated Windows system. And I think most OSX users out there are rather used to the gaming landscape being dominated by Windows support. Most OSX users into gaming probably have dual-boot setups or a dedicated gaming PC like I use.
Do I think it would be nice? Yeah. But I certainly don't think it would happen. I think the developers have far too much on their plate to worry about multiple operating system support.
And it makes me think back to the original EverQuest, which had Mac support initially. But once Kunark expansion came out, that was the end. I don't think they ever kept up with Mac support after that.
Sadly, for the work and effort it would take to port it over for both OSX and Linux compatibility, it would have diminishing returns for the amount of potential new players it would bring in.
And, like I said, I say this as someone who has used OSX more than Windows since around 2005 or 2006. (For the record, I still use Windows and Linux systems as well.)
Franklin was a guy my office hired who refused to use a Windows machine, and demanded we buy him a Mac. He then was unable to log into our servers without a massive ball-ache. He then needed a special printer. Our IT guys spent months just trying to get his computer to do what we needed for him to do his job. In the end we partitioned it and put Windows on it anyway, much to his protests.
He then proceeded to throw a tantrum about having to use Windows and complained to our big boss about how Mac is better and we should change the whole company over. Basically, he was told to piss up a rope. So what did Franklin do? He started reporting everyone for harassing him, tried to get our manager fired because he claims she was treating him unfairly because he turned down a sexual advance by her. At one point finally someone had had enough of his shit and he was told to shape up, or find a new place to work.
Franklin chose option C, and proceeded to try to install a "virus" into the server the "crash all the Windows programs". What he actually ended up doing was getting arrested for violating our security terms of service contract.
The week after he was fired, we all gathered in the back parking lot and burned his Mac Book and smoked cigars.
Moral of the story. Don't be like Franklin and go demanding special treatment because you have a boner for Steve Jobs's overpriced electronics.
The arrogance you imply here is mind boggling...
We can all agree that the place shouldn't have hired him and giving in to his demands is just unprofessional.
Unless he IS Steve Jobs your place of work is whipped by anyone that walks in.
I am happy you set it on fire though...
