Nice, I have some guildies (who aren't on the forums yet) who seem relatively unexcited about the nodes.
Not that they aren't impressed about the idea. Just that they don't feel the urge to want and affect the world that way. Perhaps they're just more focused on the combat and the other aspects of the game.
Mind-boggling. Haha. That's why I came up with the post to see if there are more players like that.

Wow - take 2 hours off for some lovely Sunday roast and look what happens? I missed so much it's like 10 weeks of Home and Away wrapped into 1 morning. Since when did that happen?

A node is more then a place to place your hat or skull in @nagash's case. I will feel the waters and temperament of the land. If it speaks loudly and with harshness due to disarray and turmoil from it's caretakers then I shall move on to find a better climate. Once I find it I will work hard to keep it majestic and in harmony while I help defend it to the end!
I will actively sabotage all nodes I come across errrrr... I mean I will help nodes advance as I'm building a mercenary guild dedicated to protecting the populations =D

Seems you were right after all. It's a shame being here doesn't pay well.
If I like the direction the community in a particular node is heading, I'll stay loyal and help advance the node.
It's more about the majority than the ruling class of each node for me. Leaders of nodes can be replaced but you can't dictate the overall populace of a given node.
If I invest the time to take a node to stage 4+ and I don't like the direction the node has been taking, I'll stay and try change it from the inside. For example, let's say a node has been taken over by a maniacal ruler, a Lich King with his dancing legion of skeletons. Thankfully, this wouldn't mean that I'd automatically have to leave the node for another because they're ways of removing leaders depending on the type of node (democratic vote, military coup, etc.).

They should immortalize (till the city gets razed) top node contributors in the form of bronzed or marble statues in the city Square or Park.
Given that I seem to get a statue for pledging rather than contributing in game, I really hope that any statue of myself comes with a graffiti/tp option..
hmmm wonder if we can have private living caravans for those who like the gypsy way of life..
