In the past work commitments have always gotten in the way. Hopefully not this time, I don't need to work so hard now  :)
  • WoW for about 4 years.
  • In my opinion, the last 8 years have not produced a game worth playing for multiple years. If you did though I understand because the choices were limited.

I strongly feel that Ashes of Creation will bring playable longevity back to the genre.
  • DAoC, then no one else has spurred my curiosity for more than a year, being generous.
  • It was a p2w game and was getting ridiculous with the rng. If it wasn't for that I'd still be playing it today. I've never been in a game with the same community spirit and I really hope that Ashes will offer the communtiy experience I desire ^^ If it does this will be my game forever :)

Are you going to keep the name secret? Pls pls pls tell
  • You cant really put a time on it. It all boils down to a lot of considerations being enjoyment, structure, community and great expansions. What kills a MMO are the devs.

I also go by the motto 'if it ain't broke don't fix it'. This motto needs to be plastered on all screens.

  • about half a year, BDO
  • about half a year, BDO
That's about how long you can go in BDO before you pull yout hair out, so that sounds about right.

The game name? Jade Dynasty - I'm embarrassed I played it but Celans were so cool xD
  • I used so much time on WOW from start to end of cata XD

Seeing at what year people quit is usually a good indicator of when the devs killed it, went p2w, or free to play. @NightshadeRaven

No judgment here @Diura. Ashes is a melting pot of awesomeness!

I like to think our poor mmo desicisons in the past have allowed us to see something amazing when we see it xD learned from our past mistakes ^^
I truly see greatness in Ashes and I'll make sure that hype train keeps going even beyond launch xD

I've never even heard of it, so no judgement here either
  • Of all the days I spent in MMORPGs, most of them were in EverQuest 2.
  • SWG.  No other game has kept me interested anywhere near as long.

5-6 years and for like 8-10 hours every day. It was on DDO. but then they started to make changes I didn't like so I started to play less and less, and eventually stopped.

I never regetted spending so much time in one game. It's all good memories now :)
  • Eq2 and wow...
  • Though I can mark 10+ years due to off and on playing of Wow since day 1, I don't know that there were any real continuous periods of time I ever played. The first couple years for sure, but after that it was sporadic. The only game I can really say I played with decent longevity was Everquest, but really only actively for 2-3 years or so straight.
  • If you consider "on and off" playtime then 14 years on MU Online.  If you're talking about no breaks, then a year on BDO,FF14, GW2 and Dekaron.
  • SWG for 4 years, SWTOR for 5 years, ArcheAge/BDO for 1 year.
  • If I was to add all my mmo time it would be around 14 years. I put 9 because that was the most time I had spent in any 1 mmo. I have tried everything under the sun since quitting Lineage 2 it feels like though.
  • If you add my time it would be around 6 years but I spent the most time in Everquest for around 3 years
  • Asherons Call - 17 years
WoW - 12 years (still going.. unhappily)
    Guild Wars - 1 year
    Order and Chaos 2 - 2 years

  • normal .done all content and start getting bored as new games will draw me in
  • I usually stick with a game for longer periods of time due to loyalty or obligation to a guild (especially if I'm an officer, I feel I let the guild down if I leave for my own reasons).  It ends up being that I leave a game because too many guildies leave, or low population on server, or other issues like that.

Order and Chaos...lol I played that for around 2 years myself.
  • Is this solid time or do we count 2 yrs with a year break the another 2yrs as 4yrs or only 2?
