Most playtime on same MMO "in one go" is 6 years.
Lineage 2 I played for a few interrupted years but never really paid much attention to time back then, was having too much fun
Other mmos were mostly only played to see if I could re-find the enjoyment I had at the start of Lineage 2..... so far I'm still looking but with a bit of luck and some hard working developers I'm hoping that quest is over
I'll be close with eso to the 5 year club at that point
@Mordencaine But do you still play them? The poll is asking how long you have played your longest mmo for. Thanks for bringing back the memories of the good old MUD days. I remember first getting given a promotional floppy disk that gave 30mins free "Internet" which was billed at something crazy like $4 a minute after that (so after my free trial I was back to bulletin board services until prices came down)
For serious now I'd say pretty long I have a couple that I'd put at 10+ years but that's on and off play. When things get stale for me I typically drop out for a lil bit then come back. Sadly if something really pulls my interest I tend to run that "fanatical researcher" persona for a while lol.
Tends to lend me to not having much that I don't know in a shorter time period than most players.
I also ran a server for Neverwinter Nights, and hosted a lot of X-Wing VS TIE Fighter games because I had the network to handle it and I loved that game when it was in sync and working correctly -- sadly not doable every day.
I didn't like WoW and only played it for about 30 minutes total when it first came out. I loved the LAN version of WarCraft(1996 I think).
The other's I've tried weren't memorable enough to recall their names.
I wasn't able to find another mmo i would enjoy as much as L2 so far, so after leaving L2 i am not able to stick to a mmo for more then 2 years.
Sadly, I only spent that much time there because that's where all my friends were
