  • Arma 3 Is just a cross between call of duty and grand theft auto. I know a ton of people on this forum that has played both games religiously.
It's amazing to me that some of these people don't think you can adopt all different types of playstyles. You don't play battlefield the same way you play Everquest. You don't play Call of Duty the same way you play Elder Scrolls. These pseudo-intellectuals that want to throw around filthy language and nonchalantly call you a bully **** asshole because you play a game that's a military simulation where the entire point of it is to rob each other, have another thing coming. We have played a variety of games for many years. Playstyle differ from game to game depending on the goal. Josh and I did not shell out hundreds of dollars a piece to get bored and quit because we realized omg no full lootz I can't get mah lulz
We have played a mass amount of MMO's over the years and ran some of the top guilds in each of them. See you in Alpha.

  • No offense there but I would consider all of this a real d*ck move, imho. It's one thing to PK someone but to completely waste another person's time in this manner is a real negative. This is first and foremost a GAME and should be a fun experience for everyone, not just some ********** out to bully others for their own enjoyment. People seem to forget that there is an actual person attached to that avatar you are screwing with.
While i wouldn't partake in the kind of gameplay SaeyoPrayers is talking about i have disagree with your arguments. Video games are a medium. Saying games should just be "Fun" is like saying all movies should be happy. Does a movie need to be happy to be enjoyable? for some maybe but no. Same thing for a game. Games don't need to be sunshine and rainbows around every corner for players to enjoy their experience.

Sometimes you need to be able to experience loss to appreciate victory. Maybe it isn't clear to everyone but this game isn't just about winning. Unless you are extremely lucky, you will lose and that is part of the experience they are trying to create for the players. This isn't a single player rpg where you are a savior/hero, this is a mmo and you are just one of many characters in a world. It is because the game isn't doing it for us that it makes the journey that much more satisfying.

Yes, they need to be careful with their mechanics to make sure players can't exploit them and they have spoken many times on how they will watch this but they want these mechanics here. You can't have good guys if people can't be bad guys.
The point is, if it's not a "fun" experience (the definition of said word can vary greatly) then people will not want to do it anymore. I've seen an MMO turn completely un-fun first hand....massive exploits completely making the economy a joke, PKers who would kill you repeatedly until your armor fell off (in said game you armor would degrade on death), hacks allowing groups to run around with impunity killing everyone. I quit that game.

An MMO is also a social experience and anonymity is not an excuse for pure anti-social behavior at the expense of others. Treat your fellow players with respect, even your enemy!
I also love how you said no offense...but...
then inplied I was a ********* out to bully people LOL
there's always that but. Arma is definitely not for the soft skinned. You will die. A lot. You will get kidnapped. A lot. You will be publicly executed in kavala square. A lot. There's literally no other point to it.

No, I have not played it but thought it was a military style FPS, not a game about griefing. Obviously this is not a game I would personally consider fun.

I don't want to turn this into some sort of polarizing issue but your 'accounts' pushed a few personal buttons for me is all. I apologize for my outburst.I would hope however that AoC doesn't have provisions in game to encourage this type of behavior.

  • Guess I touched a nerve. My comments were meant to address a certain type of player, and since you jumped right in to tell us how you and your buddy "Josh" may act like that in other styles of games, but have a goal in this one that is adaptable to the community I am sure you will have a bang up time. For myself, I will just be able to visualize SaeyoPrayers as "Josh with a monkey" from now on. I believe you IT guys call it the first step in social engineering, or was it phishing. I always get them confused.

Indeed. We will. Think I'll take a break from these forums for some days. Sure have been a ton of quick-tempered, butthurt, childish people spouting off, name calling, jumping to conclusions as of late. Exactly the type of lunacy that starts wars in game. Sure hope this isn't preluding to something. Can't even joke about things anymore. This is what? Third day in a row? Smh Becoming a thing here. I'll be on ESO if you feel like playing tonight. @Kinork
See the rest of you in alpha.

Well I am not IT. I am a Petroleum Engineer. So hell if I know if it's phishing or whatever. Yeah, you addressed a certain type of player, essentially used his playstyle on that game as an example, used the game as an example, now trying to say it wasn't about him in the least. Wouldn't expect anything less from a troll with a Hitler cat for a profile pic though. Lmao
Cant wait to see you in game. I don't typically grieve people on MMO's. You can bet, I'll be coming for you though, if nothing else, for that profile pic. XD
Good luck with your job at McDonalds. Hope they raise that minimum wage for ya.

Right back at you, not surprised you and your Joshie are playing ESO. Sounds like the perfect exploit driven pvp you're looking for. To find me in Ashes all you will have to do is look up to see who is teabagging your sorry excuse for a toon. I am sure you will be able to get a bunch of your MAGA buddies to join in the game since they will all be out of work since the mines aren't going to reopen. I would definitely ask my employer to address your minimum wage concerns, if I actually lived in the US and was having to deal with your fundamentalist theocratic revival of creating a peasant class to service the ultra-rich. And they may let you call yourself a "petroleum engineer" at work, but for the rest of us stopping by the KwikEMart, it still translates as "gas station attendant."
  • Nice education, as petroleum engineers generally don't work for mines. :D #readabookforonceinyourpatheticlife LOL Also, I live in London and have an MSc in petroleum geoscience. You must know all about that KwikEMart, don't you? All you can afford, eh? As for teabagging, Talk is cheap. My character name will undoubtably be Kinork. See you on Alpha.
You can try to use big words to sound more impressive. Although there's nothing unique, interesting, mysterious or inherently original about you pseudo-intellectuals that troll people with Hitler pics and make trolling remarks about people then deny you were talking of them. Also, your blanket judgments on engineers are laughable. This inferential commonality was derived by a systematized conclusion, that all people in petroleum are the same. A very small minority actually work in America, and a minuscule amount of those work for mines. (See. Using big words isn't that difficult, still doesn't mean you don't work at mcdonalds)
