  • I was 10 or 11 when I started playing online PC games. Just need to act a bit mature and whatever guild you may choose, be a good guildie and you should be fine. Some guilds may be lame and say 18+. People have their reasons. I'd use that as motivation to be such a good player that they wish they had recruited me.
  • So the police told me age does matter, but this was after I was asked to move my illegal fireworks stand away from the middle school.

Yep, saw the whole thing from my panel van where I was NOT videotaping the playground.

Since you can't really confirm someones age on the internet these days, our guild doesn't have that requirement.  Some of our members that are under 18 act more mature those older.  Our guild has a wide range of ages.  Ranging from 14 to 60.  We had a chart once of the age ranges , It was actually suprising.   Most were about 25-35 range.
  • Consider the 18+ a depravity health warning.
Sure it will open yours eyes, would/could be a good thing, but also leave you open to abuse by people very experienced with manipulation of the young and naive.
    Your choice.

For many it is also a wall against the teenage angst drama that comes with immaturity, although the maturity of many of the 18+ players is questionable.

I would probably have an 18+ rule if I made a guild. Not because of maturity per-say but simply because the lifestyle of kids and adults is too different. I have to worry about some kid's mom being in a bad mood and kicking him off the computer in the middle of a raid but I don't have to worry about that with an adult; just for an example.

There is also some concern about the joking a few posts before mine. I don't need some kid's psychotic mom reporting me to IS or the FBI because I'm playing video games with a kid and thus absolutely must be a pedophile. Sounds like an even better reason to not allow anyone under 18 now that I think about it.
